Sorry in advance if my questions are too noob but I only just got my Taycan 10 days ago and I'm starting to learn about DC fast charging...
This afternoon, I pulled into an EA charging location. This location (Crystal Springs Village Shopping Center, San Mateo CA) has 4 stations, each has two plugs. I pulled in to the closest one and started charging (plug-and-charge beautiful; got around 100kW without battery preconditiong). After about 15min, some dude pulls in next with a Volvo plug in hybrid, he tries to grab the other charging handle from the same station I'm on - that other plug being CHAdeMO; turns out he knows even less about charging cause his Volvo only has the J1772 plug, no DC pins (from which I'm deducing that his car can only be AC-charged?). Anyway, he can't lift the CHADdeMO charging handle (because station is busy with me??), swipes his credit card (thinking that will release the plug from its station resting position), which promptly stops my charging.
So here's my question: when a station has two charging plugs, can't they be used at the same time? Seems crazy that you can so easily interrupt somebody else's charging session?
The other thing I learned is not to block the only CHAdeMO station when other CCS are available (not relevant in this particular case).
