USB-C cable requires force to plug & unplug

Does anyone else have this issue? When I plug the cable into my laptop it goes in and comes out smoothly, but in the car it takes quite a bit of force both to plug in and out. More than normal, in my opinion. I tried multiple USB-C ports in the car and they all behave like that.
