So we’re having one of our ten days of annual rain this weekend and I was reminded of something that really bugs me about my Taycan. When the car is really wet and you open any door or the trunk, water just drops right into the car. Roll the window down a bit, a river of water flows right into the inside of the car door. Open the drivers door, water drips right onto the b pillar and rocker. Opened the trunk today and a river flowed down the back of the lid right into my gym bag. Wtf?

I think it’s a feature.

jk. That’s why I ceramic-coated (DIY) all the leather surfaces. Works very well. Lasts for around 2 years before needing re-application. Applied it myself on past and current cars including the Taycan. Very easy DIY application, but wear a mask or try to do it outdoors where there’s good ventilation because it’s stinks, and probably toxic lol

Well that’s not what a prospective owner wants to hear ?

It’s not too bad IMO. Really not much worse than average. Somewhat common with any car that has frameless door windows. Trunk isn‘t bad. My wife’s A6 allroad is way worse - you open the trunk lid after some rain and your pants will get soaked unless you clear out of the way.

So many other great things about the car that outweigh the little quirks. You have a lot to look forward to :)

Really bugs me. I have to imagine it’s a frustration for owners in wetter locales than me.

Well I live in the UK where it rains more than sunshine and I have NEVER experienced any of that for the last 2 years...So really not sure what the issue is - which in itself is odd as I would imagine there are no build differences in this particular area, ie seals etc.

+1
Perhaps our rain has less attitude as it doesn't have a frustratingly long wait between performances.

........ Started off very warm and wet.

Becoming cooler and drier later, with an occasional deep depression (after marriage)
