My Taycan went in for 2 recalls and lost connectivity to the App, I had to reset my account and lost loads of settings. One setting was only charging to 85% at home. Where is this setting as it keeps charging to 100%

Thank you,
But there is no longer a maximum charge, just a minimum charge

I've posted this video multiple times. It is the clearest tutorial I've found.

There was never a max setting - always a min setting controlled thereafter by a profile / timer combination.

Suggest to re-famliarise yourself with the owner's manual.

Perfect, ish so for the general charging where it says minimum charge it is actually also maximum charge. Thanks Porsche!

It is a minimum, as labeled. It is not a maximum. It is the value it will charge to immediately and then await further instructions. If there are no further instructions, then it will not charge any more. But it is not a maximum because other instructions can cause it to charge higher.

Kind of like how the car will also charge outside of preferred times. They aren’t “required” times. They’re “preferred”.

But it isn't!

Max is the level you wish to charge to referred to as "Target Charge".

Min is, well, the minimum level of charge you require to have prior to commencing charging as per your chosen parameters. A safe min is 25% in case you have an emergency and have no other vehicle to use.

Sensibly, the car when AC charging, will immediately charge to your min and then pause only to recommence within you chosen time window stopping when your target chargenis reached or you stop the session.

Unfortunately, folk on the forum (not helped by vloggers) continue to confuse the basics for newcomers.

I just let mine charge to 100%. If they were really worried about the battery life, they would’ve built in warnings to not charge past 80-90% except for certain situations.

I know they say not to charge past 80% but every time I bring it in for service where it's staying overnight the dealer puts it in a charger which charges it to 100% even though I tell them to stop at 80%.
Doesn't seem to be a priority with Porsche so I'm wondering if by charging to 80% my battery will last just beyond my 8 year 100K warranty when the cost to replace it is mine alone.
Does anyone know if Porsche has replaced a battery or one of the battery modules when the range has degraded too much? My 22 Taycan was at 225 when it was new and after 2+ years and 34K miles I'm at 200.
I'm hoping they don't consider it normal to lose 10% range every 2 years since that would give me a range after 8 years of 156 miles per 100% charge and 124 miles at 80% charge which would be unacceptable. I would have to charge it every day and only use it locally to be safe.
I guess only time will tell but I'm a bit curious if there was a built in design reason to charge to 80% why Porsche doesn't make this easy to do or make it a default setting that users have to defeat to go over 80. It's not a condition of the battery warranty to charge to 80. It's strongly suggested.

I just read that, love how it says 85% then 80% a little further down lol.

I’ve also messed with the profile/timer before but didn’t have much luck, they don’t make it as easily as Tesla to set a limit.. makes me think they really don’t care as much, but just my opinion.

My Taycan is 4 years old with 21k miles and still gets about 260-270 on full charge.

They have different circumstances listed and are not contradictory.

I don’t find them difficult. There aren’t enough combinations of options for them to be difficult.
