So annoying the lack of capacity in UK dealers. Not really acceptable is it!!There are orange warnings too which require attention but don't stop restricted driving.
My car has an orange transmission fault which I have been able to get an appointment to check out on 1st August.
I can drive the car but I have no regenerative braking and it didn't seem to drive at steady speed at steady throttle and efficiency seems very low (~2m/kWh rather than nearer 3).
I am driving our 5 year old Prius instead (which has never had a fault)
Pretty rubbish, mind you getting the routine service booking for the Prius was tight too. Maybe just not enough apprenticeships for mechanics. So annoying the lack of capacity in UK dealers. Not really acceptable is it!!
Brexit has screwed employment market significantly.Pretty rubbish, mind you getting the routine service booking for the Prius was tight too. Maybe just not enough apprenticeships for mechanics.
What's you current mileage? If it's stuck in 1st, what is your top speed? There are orange warnings too which require attention but don't stop restricted driving.

Sounds unsafe to me. I'd call porsche assistance to recover it if i were you. Dealer has to look at in with in 5 days then and you get a courtesy ('premium' enterprise) car....So annoying the lack of capacity in UK dealers. Not really acceptable is it!!
Around 3700 miles. What's you current mileage? If it's stuck in 1st, what is your top speed?
PS> I hope 2m means 2 miles, rather than 2 meters ?
Sorry to hear this happened to your car so early in its life. Did Porsche suggest you drive it until the appointment, or did they offer you a loaner?Around 3700 miles.
I have no idea what the top speed might be, the local roads are so narrow going quick in something as wide as the Taycan is risky (I go quicker on a lot of the roads in our Prius) and anyway I decided not to bother to drive it until I know what is wrong.
I am a big believer in stopping before doing any more damage - learned the hard way in Formula 1 where some drivers have great mechanical sympathy and others absolutely none.
I get that but I don’t really want a rubbish BMW Diesel… My second Taycan after 2000 miles has been faultless unlike the first (2022) which has now apparently been sold at a knock down price - wonder if new owner will be on here?Sounds unsafe to me. Neither!Sorry to hear this happened to your car so early in its life. Did Porsche suggest you drive it until the appointment, or did they offer you a loaner?
Wow, Porsche brand sure has changed in the last 20 years. I remember my first Porsche (custom build 911C4), great quality, service was always awesome, loaners to choose from, even in times when allocations had long waitlists (though unlike today, they did trade allocations between dealers back then to get you what you want). Dealers were proud to offer premium service for premium cars (you paid for it of course, but AFAIK dealers today charge just as much premium).Neither!
I got no suggestions or offer of a loan car, even after I bring it in.
The warning is orange and it says "adapted driving permitted" but I decided not to until I take it in.
Yep, so don't bother with the courtesy car unless you need one. But in Frank's case (whose comment i meant to reply to really) his car is basically off the road for at least a month. So if you go the Porsche assistance route (as recommended by my dealers call centre when my heater failed), they've a contractual obligation to deal with the car almost immediately.I get that but I don’t really want a rubbish BMW Diesel… My second Taycan after 2000 miles has been faultless unlike the first (2022) which has now apparently been sold at a knock down price - wonder if new owner will be on here?
