Hi,

Picked up my new Taycan last week and had an unpleasant night sleep... Alarm kept going off during the night. I have now disabled the incline/interior sensor but wondered whether any other owner has had same problems / teething issues.

Thanks!

Seems to be a common failure. Picked up our Macan Turbo in Leipzig in May 2014 and drove it all over Europe for four weeks. Woke up every hotel at night. Funniest part was picking up the Macan from the Porsche secure parking at the end of Le Mans - the security attendant said “Do you know your alarm goes of every night?” It was fixed by the factory before being sent to the US. Motion sensor was apparently affected by humidity.

Thanks Wmras!
That could very well be a faulty sensor indeed. I have the car booked on 6th Jan for a few things so will make sure they check that.
Merry Christmas :)

Picked my RWD up last week and while getting windows tinted yesterday the anti-theft sensor went off (I got a notification). Nothing seemed a-miss when I picked it up though and no other alarm issues so far.

Hi Ahmed,
When you switch the engine off it asks whether to disable internal sensor. Just tick that.
My car spent a week at the dealership and they found nothing wrong… Vodafone (tracking) thought it was the firmware on the tracker which needed to be updated. Porsche said it was upto date… interesting thing though is I moved house and problem disappeared… the only difference is previously my drive had an incline Vs new drive which does not. Not sure if alarm went into mode of thinking car was being towed?
Cheers

You can also disable interior monitoring and the prompt for interior monitoring from the vehicle settings menu.

My interior alarm (MY21 picked up a week ago) keeps going off. I disabled it in the PCM yet it eventually just turns itself back on (notified the dealer, but not leaving it till they have my power steering to retrofit).

I even set it to ask me when I power off the car if I want interior monitoring and that shuts off on its own after a time or two.

MBA’s any one resolves whatis causing it?

I noticed the one member mentioned being on an incline and my driveway is, but I just moved it to the flat street and went off.

having the same problem. I am not on an incline either. Keeps going off randomly... Anybody have any solutions for this other than the one above?

Just an additional note. In the PCM, Vehicle Locking settings; I unchecked the interior monitor. I also checked the final box that would prompt me about the interior monitor when I powered off the car.

So in theory, when I power off the car, I should get the box asking if I Want to enable. And since I have it uncheck, that reminder should show it unchecked. It will maybe one or two times and then the next time I power off the car, the box is checked (to monitor the interior). So if I did not have the reminder, the alarm would go off as the interior monitor "reselects itself" with no input from me.

If I uncheck it, it should never turn on till I do so. I figured out that it was turning itself back on when it felt like it as the alarm would go off and I knew I had unchecked the box. So I now have to wait for the reminder box to display after power off to make sure it did not turn itself on (Which it does frequently) and uncheck it as I leave the vehicle.

The alarm has not gone off when interior monitoring is unchecked.

Anyone know where the "monitor" is located in the cabin?

Mine has gone off a couple times as well. Checked and unchecked the boxes that seem to have a mind of their own. My car is in a garage with a level floor. Now I just hit the key fob lock twice. The red light on the dash blinks a few times then goes out for twenty seconds indicating the interior sensor is not armed. It hasn’t gone off since.

I have tried the lock button twice on the FOB, but the alarm has gone off still.

Where is the red light that blinks?

I have a red light on each door right inside by the mirror that I see blink.

I have the same problem. Apparently it's a known issues on certain models and my dealer said Porsche doesn't have the solution yet.

So the workaround is pressing twice the button to close the car to disable the volumetric alarm.

Whats the best place to put in feedback or comments about the issues with electronics on this car? I did not expect this many issues with such a basic part of any modern car system.
