I hope this is true. My general manager told me yesterday when he revives the title I can come in and do the paper work, hoping by friday.
I was told the same and have Friday blocked off to complete the transaction.

Good news! Glovis has left San Diego and is due in to Benicia tomorrow!

That’s interesting as I was told the opposite (as other people have previously reported). My Dealer said he could not transfer title unless the car was physically at their Dealership. My Accountant told me the same thing. I don’t know if there is a California Law covering this. Probably depends on the Dealer. Meanwhile I’m just hoping the car makes it from the San Diego Port, arrived 12/27, to Santa Barbara by Friday. Then there will be no questions.

I can’t see why your accountant would know when a dealer can sell a car. The accountant must be looking at a phrase in the tax credit law which has been reported to say the car must be “in service.”

Some dealers are willing to sell when cars are transferred from the ship; some aren’t. No explanation for that.

That is exactly what the Accountant said.

Glovis Supreme heading under the Golden Gate in the next hour!

My dad lives in Tiburon and has a view of the water… I’ll see if he can get us a shot as she cruises by.

Anyone that gets solid info from their dealer, please share! My dealer is Porsche Walnut Creek, which is maybe the closest dealer to the port; a mere 17 minute drive. Not that it matters much. ?

My car was unloaded, presumably, on 12/27 at SD..TYD changed from 1/28 delivery to 1/14.. But dealership hasn't heard anything else. I think it's the transport or lack of it that's the bottleneck. Everything is log jammed on that end. Hopefully get more clarity within the next 48hrs.

I was able to track down the port manager at Benicia and spoke to him just a few minutes ago. Cars did start rolling-off last night but they weren't ours. Porsches roll-off today. VWs and Chevrolets roll-off tomorrow. He had no knowledge of the schedule for truck transport which is handled by a different company. I think he said "Ceres" is the transport. There is a website for a national firm called Ceres Transportation Group which looks like the one but no way to get any detail at that site without an account.

And...so...we...wait!

Just texting with my SA. Doubtful release of vehicles until after the holiday. Sounds like the port and onward transport are already winding down for the New Year.
