i wash my Taycan every 2 days or so and i found a few issues

1. lots of water trapped under the rear spoiler, both after washing and after raining
(a few people mentioned this in the forum before)

2. after a wash and you open the hood, everything is wet except the cargo compartment, extra work to towel it dry

3. finally, i noticed water do go down to all the electronics under the wipers, cause is not well sealed, i hope this will not cause problems in the long term

2. & 3 Must be a Porsche thing in general. I have the exact same on my 718 (and i have so far only washed that car by hand/with a pressure washer).

For 3 i now usually place some dry towels underneath the hood before i wash the car in the hope that they soak up most of the water

1. Pop the trunk after your wash to let the water drain out. I leave it up for some time and wipe the trunk jamb as well.

2. That's the case with most cars. Just like the trunk - open it and let the residue water drain. Wipe the lid and plastic surround areas.

The car washing record must be my dad’s although it does not appear in the Guiness book:

We lived in Bogotá, Colombia where it rained what seemed to be almost every day of the year, except for the dry season which lasted about 45 days from mid-December thru end of January.
From Monday thru Friday it went like this: My mom’s driver would hand-wash his car every morning, then when he arrived at the office, a worker would wash the car again as it was dirty again for sure. Then he went home for lunch, but no, it was not washed there, as the driver was off to lunch himself ! However, when he went back to the office in the afternoon, if it had rained it was washed once more. On Saturdays only 2 washes since he did not go to the office in the afternoon. On Sundays, the car could have a rest :lipssealed:… He had mostly Peugeots which he changed every 2-3 years or so… 1 403, 3 404’s, 1 404 coupé, 3 504’s and a 604 he had until he passed away in 1984. He had a 1965 Opel Admiral between the 3rd 404 and the 404 coupé. I miss him so much …

If my math is correct it comes to around 500-600 carwashes a year ! Probably exceeding what any manufacturer ever thought was possible !

All normal, my 991.2 and 992 are the same way, water under frunk area but not in cargo hold, water under rear spoiler, except the 911s spoilers raise much higher to wipe underneath my Taycan's spoiler barely raises. Water going down the windshield line is not an issue and engineered that way.

My car goes in for service next week because I have water trapped in the back.. actually I don’t know what to call it.. but the plastic part that has Porsche in it.

Also, I think my teenager is going to start washing my car every other day. Thanks for the idea.

There’s nothing there that’s not designed to get wet.
