Morning

I had been allocated an April build slot with a completion on the 25th of May. I then get the dreaded email saying no completion date is shown, so the dealer has no clue on build or delivery.

Wondering if anyone else is in the same situation and has any news? Unable to get anything out of my dealer.

I've only once fleetingly glimpsed the production schedule for my vehicle, I wish I'd whipped out my phone and grabbed a screenshot. I was focused on build start, with an expected delivery within 8 weeks of that. What is "completion"- is that the customer taking delivery? If instead it's completion of build, I'd have assumed 1 or 2 weeks for a typical build from start of production.
EDIT- in answer to the original question, my end of April build start is apparently unchanged since allocation in January.

All my dealer said was that build completion was scheduled for 25th May, from a January build and deposit. He looked again at the schedule last week, after I chased him, the the date had disappeared with nothing in its place. So for me I simply have not visibility as to what happening. Hope yours continues but literally mine was on track until last week, and he did say to me that all of the Taycans he had on order for April build ALL had their completion dates removed. My build slot was the first week of April……

My car went into build early July 21 and exited build late Nov 21 (build was originally listed as 10/12 day process) - semi conductor issues I presume although the air suspension supply chain was, for a time, thought to be a factor slowibg production (linked to factory flooding in April/May 2021)

hopefully production gets back for forecasted schedules again soon for you guys patiently awaiting your Taycans

Thanks. Apparently mine was their only April build to not have that done to it...but as I can't believe I'm that lucky, I'm assuming it's just a date update glitch rather than the factory dedicating its resources to get my car built on schedule.

I can imagine Porsche are seeing a huge number of things all negatively affecting their manufacture ability

* War In Ukraine and impact on supply chain - we know of the Wiring Loom issues, I am sure there are more

* Global Chip shortage still impacting sub components

* Felicity Ace fire & sinking - I saw a few articles (Washington Post had one) saying Porsche lost approx 1,100 cars.. I'd imagine that as the US market is key to Porsche and many US buyers had been waiting some time for these cars their replacement manufacture is probably higher priority and possibly will be pushing other manufacturing back while also consuming components already purchased

While Porsche have suspended deliveries to Russia, last year Russia was only 6,262 cars from 301,915 cars shipped Worldwide . As most of these are Cayenne, Macan and then 911, I doubt that this suspension has freed up much Taycan manufacture

However all the above does not give Porsche a pass and they should step up and communicate with us all re impacts / slippages .. silence is not acceptable for us all

That’s my main gripe. You put £10k down on car and the least they could is keep you informed. I understand the issues but communication is key.

I agree with all those points and you can now also add additional supply chain issues with parts of China going back into lockdown...

https://www.theguardian.com/busines...threatens-more-global-supply-chain-disruption

It must be an absolute nightmare for the logistics people currently.

To me it seems as follows....

The customer doesn't know what's going on because the dealer doesn't get told what's going on. And Porsche nationally don't know what's going on because Porsche Mothership is trying to juggle a number of dynamic issues on a day to day basis.....and basically firefighting the situation as best they can.
