Confused.... Porsche GB - thanks for order email

Folks, I placed a deposit and ordered in October'21 and was given a paper order sheet confirming my order at that time.

Today 30th May 22, I received an email saying "Thank you for ordering your new Porsche – The Taycan" - and the car now appears in My Porsche.

Does that mean my order has only just been submitted to Porsche by the OPC now? I have not been given an allocation/build-slot yet.

It seems a strange terminology for what I was hoping for soon - something along the lines of.... 'order update - your allocation/build slot is XX/XX"

I can't find an order reference number in the email or 'My Porsche' to cross-reference back to the ref number on the original order sheet. So I am not sure what this email means.

Have you asked dealer for V code status? That is your best bet in actually ascertaining status is.

I've had the same this morning, made me wonder if I have got my allocation (in which case I need to finally firm up on spec/colour). Out of interest, I had a quick look on autotrader to look at colours and see a lot of cars listed for what I can only assume to be higher than list prices (either that or they must have a lot of options)

Thanks T - Perhaps the next tranche of (MY23) allocations have just been announced to UK OPCs? FYI I am with Exeter.

There are no details (yet?) on My Porsche (very helpful) - when you pick on order details there - it just says we will try to progress soon - no spec, model, reference number or anything concrete - perhaps that will change...

I am awaiting a response from my OPC to clarify situation - will update if I learn anything worth repeating - can U please do the same?

We really liked Neptune Blue - it was our 'standard colour' choice - it's one of those colours that change in different lights (like our present Porsche RS-Green A7 does). Not seen ice-grey so can't comment.

It's personal taste obvs - we are just bored when we drive along the sea front here and it's a a line of black, grey, silver and white cars as far as the eye can see. We like to brighten things up!

But many people like understated colours on the larger Porkers - TBH any colour looks crackin on a stonkin car like Taycan.

In the end we went PTS - colour TBD from shortlist of 4....... (keeping it secret from kids for now . )

I hope I'm in the next batch if allocations have appeared! I also ordered in October '21. So far I've found it the worst buying experience I've had! On order there was just a print out of the sheet no branded folder or anything nice to acknowledge the order. Then there was 3 months of radio silence and after chasing by email with no reply for a week I called in and I was informed the sales rep I ordered from left. The replacement rep I was given just about said hello and radio silence again. After emailing him 3 times I got an email back saying he is out the country so try calling the dealership for an update. No idea why they can't use out of office replies like all other businesses.

I'll call and see what the story is on my place in the queue I guess.
