Thanks for the helpful replies folks... The Porsche EXTENDED warranty is an insurance policy and as such, I think the 'new car' warranty rules may not apply.. and the policy can have whatever clauses the seller wishes and then it's caveat emptor ... I think the EU warranty/servicing rules...
A bit of web-research says that in 2023 Porsche no longer mandated N rated tyres (perhaps in Europe only?) - & that they are only 'advisory'. But on forums like this, it seems everyone uses NF0,1,2 to avoid warranty claim weakness.
To what extent is it weakening any potential (extended)...
Great Report R, hope all goes well. Hope you don't mind me asking... Did they replace discs and pads? or just pads? What is approx mileage/kilos on car? Cheers
In which case, that is their problem and not yours - Your contract is with them and theirs is with the mothership. So they should serve you and arrange for the videos or whatever proof they need to be reimbursed themselves. Just my 2cents....
Hope the lucky few who have had the WTG1 update will post their outcomes here - even if it works fine... People don't tend to march with banners that says 'we're happy' ....
Absolutely agree about wear .. But it's in the published maintenance schedule - Will be a lot cheaper at an accredited indie, but need to consider any warranty and resale history implications (if any).... Discs are not mandatory thank goodness (10k+)! They depend on inspection...
Not 100% sure with PCCBs, but the pads are mandatory on PSCB at 6 years regardless of wear - It's an age thing - 6 years max allowed under warranty if you want an official service.... I assume same for PCCB.
Nicely done! and great info ... The 'major' service is every 6 years when they replace pads - and possibly discs too.... :O
For us with PSCB/PCCB that's gonna hurt! ... that's when it could be worth investigating an accredited indie and potential impact on warranty/history etc....
FWIW. My home (UK) electricity tariff is £0.0399 per kWh (night-time) and that's fixed until Feb '27.
That's around £4 for a 0-100% charge = 250Miles (ish).
For a petrol car at 30 MPG (for an equivalent 680hp 5 seat car) & £1.90 per litre (motorway prices) would make it around £75 to do...
I searched for posts on this ... honest! ...
Any advice for removing jeans dye (mainly black) transfer from leather seats (red) - Best product?
Seen some YouTube vids recommending general household cleaning spray and an electric brush, which seems a bit harsh! .... I tried a proprietary...
Yes I saw that thanks - one reason I started this thread - It's brilliant value TBH ..... I am awaiting information about warranty impact ... but I have plenty of time yet - its more for planning purposes..
I found that the following worked for me.....
taking your phone inside the car - going to privacy settings in the PCM (it will say inactive)..,. then activating privacy mode ,,,, and then deactivating it again - worked for me
Just to clarify a bit -
It's PSCB (surface coated) and not PCCB that I am interested in.....;
and, its warranty compliant pads I am interested in and not discs or OEM
Many thanks folks.
