FYI A couple of weeks ago, I sent a email jointly to both SmartM UK and PAG UK, explaining customer anger and deploring the crazy self-harming lack of 'harmonising' customer communication from PAG.
SM-UK warmly welcomed my email and thanked me - but did not offer to do anything .. They just...
Shame PAG HQ ain't reacting - Their reading of the situation and failure to communicate on it to customers is deplorable! People can accept bad news, but to be ignored, when things are going wrong, is the worst business practice and shows PAG's true and total lack of care for customers.
I followed up my previous mail to my OPC, which confirmed that the 3885 update had failed, - telling them that other UK OPCs had been informed by PAG that an update was supposedly on the way to fix the Nav (eventually - possibly June)....
They just replied telling me that they were not aware...
Yup! My email was sent jointly to Uk Smartmobility and Porsche Germany - but SM's reply to me was not copied to PAG - that's one reason why I went to the trouble to reply again today, cos I again sent it jointly to SM and PAG.
PAG have not yet replied - but I only sent it a couple of days...
I got my reply form Porsche to my email (posted here earlier) telling them that customers were exasperated at the inconsistent information - most of which was garbage (I paraphrase) and some were taking coordinated action on this
The thanked me for the information on customers etc. and more or...
FWIW I just sent this to smartmobility GB and to Porsche Germany.. not that I expect anything to happen..
Dear Smartmobility GB and Porsche Germany
Please take this in the proactive spirit in which it is intended...
Please refer to...
For me, with charge planner activated but no charger selected or advised - mine still crashes every 5-6 miles - even short trips with SOC 100% so no need to charge at all
but with charger planner de-activated - I can travel at least 30 miles without PCM rebooting - not tried a longer trip yet
Had 3885 and 12v fix today - was promised done just after lunch - but took all day.
Beforehand, the service manager told me that the fix he was installing included a patch or code that would fix the issue for definite..... I told him about the experiences of my fellow Forumites here, where the...
My CT-T MY23 going in tomorrow for TI 65/23 - 3885 update, and 12v fix.
Not expecting it to be fixed - But following PAG instructions to keep the liability with them - Will report back (eventually).
That would be brilliant F - great idea! ........
It would compliment our emails to Porsche [national]/Smart-Mobility when fixes fail etc to make sure they know the full scale of issue and failed fixes - cant rely on OPCs.
FWIW I hope everyone is not solely relying on the dealerships - just briefing them - It may be more important to actually inform your national 'Smart-mobility' or Porsche-[national] and asking them for the solutions. mebbies also sending copy emails etc to PAG Germany.
The more focussed our...
FWIW My Porsche extended warranty specifically includes the HV Battery - The only mention is that it's in the list of components covered...... but as Chun says - on the same page are so many exclusions and caveats, I am not sure its worth anything...
Thats encouraging Paul - thanks. I guess there comes a cross-over point where keeping the Porsche extended warranty alive is simply not worth the cost, and you move over to conventional independent specialist support.
I was not welcoming the 8 year cover as a benefit... that would be silly.
I make the point that it's not just cars from Porsche that face an 8 year cover-lifespan - but this affects EVs from almost all EV MFRS. So around half of all cars. And its actually less than 8 years notional value for...
This makes sense in purely practical & financial terms -
It's not just Porsche with an 8 year limit on HV battery life cover - most mfrs the same - and most new cars are EVs - so scrapping all electric cars at 8 yrs? Political implications - physically dealing with the waste? sustainability...
