I think HV batteries will typically still be viable (albeit reduced power) for 10-20 years.. the 8 year limit being conservative...
I saw a post here from someone in the USA offering HV battery insurance, subject to the car being covered by MFRS extended warranty. Has anyone in the UK...
FWIW - A customer in the UK was told this by his OPC.... (ref Facebook Group) ....
"OPC told me that there is now a recall in progress which should hopefully resolve this issue. but I will hold my breath until I try its for myself later today"
Recall? .... I only know of the 12V sensor...
Once Porsche realise that many people are having the 3885 update with no benefit - using OPC time and their money (I assume PAG pay the OPC for the warranty work) for each visit .... and given Porsche are not flush-with-cash at the moment.... I think they should stop the wasteful software...
I think that as has been discussed.... We probably need to go through the motions of accepting the offer to update software under warranty - even though its a pain and we know it's not likely not to achieve any technical improvement ...
What it does do is keep the liability with Porsche...
Absolutely! - I won't hold my breath for them to act on it, ....but FWIW, whenever I communicate on this topic with Porsche, I will now include a link to this thread, with a comment that a growing number of people are having the same issues...... Mebbies if we all did that, It might help a...
yes - they will do that on mine too -and I have had no 12V issues so far 🤞 🤞 🤞 - They classed it as a recall over the phone - but when I checked on the recall look-up, my car has none outstanding - So I think is a precautionary one that everyone with J1.1 will get when they next go into an OPC
Thanks Bognar - Mine is booked in for the useless updates later in February - If the updates don't work, I will push along those lines from the UK too - & I will also mention that I am posting my email correspondence in this forum, where others are having the same experience....
Mr. B, ... was that German email organised through your local Smartmobility email address - or a specific one for PAG? I guess if they are eventually having to send lots of these out - the penny may drop that they are just wasting customer time, OPC time/resources and their own cash. And that...
I guess that's reasonable since the advice/instruction comes form the source - thing is - if you refuse to take it in - I guess you have no come-back for continuing issues... so its a Catch-22 - hope it works out for you (and us) - cheers
I‘ve pushed back on smartmobility asking them to confirm that the TI for a software update with bug fixes/stabilisation they say mine should be booked in for really is the solution, pointing out that for others it doesn’t seem to have been. Interesting to see what they say.
Great stuff - very...
Thanks for the clarification J - good to understand what that pack number means thanks...
I'm not worried at all .. it's not so important for me, personally - I hardly use nav or planner - charge at home and mostly just pootle around ... last long trip was around a year ago. Cheers
I had the same smartmobility response here (UK) - but my OPC is following PAG orders and I am booked in for the 'update' on 20th Feb........ Probably a waste of a day.....
Wish there was consistency across PAG/Mobility/OPCs, even if it is a 'cant fix right now, you'll have to wait'...
We'll be spoilt for choice!! .... Zeekr 7GT £50K in top spec.. 500+miles and 3.3 to 62

Following investigation into my sticky sat-nav by Porsche Smartmobility UK at my request - They passed it onto Porsche Germany about 2-3 weeks ago ... Just received this back from Smartmobility.....
"After further review, PAG have requested you take your vehicle into your local Porsche...
Suggest - If going into an OPC for a fix - or awaiting an OTA fix ... To make a note of parameters such as......

Interesting, when I went through the nav software version with the guy from Porsche smart mobility (following his instructions over the phone), my version ended EU_2025.12 - so I guess more up to date than yours and that was before any attempt to address the issues in my car.
seems strange...
