Hi all
When I start up with no passenger, Taycan logo comes on and then varies between staying on(acceptable aesthetics) or just goes off and blank screen( waste of money aesthetics)...no idea why it does the variation as no passenger either time.
Any info on how I can keep it on , with no passenger, to display something of my choice?
TIA

You can't. Safety option and requires a passenger (funnily enough) to be in the seat.

Try a few sacks of potatoes as a surrogate passenger to provide weight in the seat..that might work.

Lol...thanks W1NGE. However how having a logo or whatever displayed being a safety risk beats me. Just looks better, and more 'future' when the panel is in use

The passenger display logo stays on for me when no passenger is in the seat. Deciding if screen is totally off or displaying a logo is an option you can select. If you hit the "PCM off" button on the driver screen it will show the options available for the passenger display.

I think in early cars the display stayed on due to a bug. Nav details and music could be displayed.

For me its a pointless accessory 95% of use cases.

Actually it is not ompletly lost. I don’t have the passenger screen and the black plastic shows scratchers after 2 months of ownership. Rather expensive option hower to avoid scratches. It think even with the screen off it looks better in glass.

While in P, click on "display options" (the on/off digital button at the bottom of your lower display), on the PCM pop-up notification tick the box to turn off passenger display. Put in D, then P again , again "display options" and untick the box. Drive away and It will stay on. Procedure needs to be repeated every time you get out of D.
Works for me.

So it is a ‘bug’ then and can be tricked into working?

I learned it from around here. I think there's a big "Taycan secrets/hacks" thread somewhere in the forum. I guess it's a bug they did not fix over time? (I have a turbo my2020). it works every time for me.

I guess I’m still trying to understand if it should be user configurable by default (no safety restriction) or by good fortune it works for some either by a workaround or ‘hack’ (akin to the 3D surround hack we have discovered)?

From @tigerbalm quote it looks like it should work without limitation and its a matter of switching it on correctly.

I'll grab a picture of the option screen I use later and post it to this thread.

Worth noting that Range Mode turns off the passenger display.
