Challenging new designs tend to polarise initially. Heck the original iPhone without a "keyboard" was mostly ridiculed by the Blackberry set standard of the time.
I'd give everyone involved in this car the credit for coming up with something different in a ocean of "same-same" EV's that get...
While it cannot be ruled out; the 911 factory was retooled in late 2023 to build the 718 EV down the same line as the 911. The hybrid 911 is already going down there – which is why that factory can handle the 400V architecture safely.
Porsche moved the ICE 718 variant out of the 911 factory a...
Which is probably why some of the more collectable cars – like specalist 911's – tend to get repaired as they hold onto their value.
Another aspect – certainly here in the EU – is the stringent emissions tests that cars undergo every two years once they reach four years old. As an ICE car gets...
I do like that they continue to invest in the app and the changes are mostly moving in the right direction.
My two complaints on this release:
One you select a theme, generally that is all you want to do. But in this design the theme selector choice remains very prominent on the main screen...
On my 911: 360 park assist on the wheel. I don't have any other joker button on the dash because I have front-axel lift option.
On my Taycan: Sports sound on wheel and 360 park assist on the dashboard.
It starts in Ireland at €305,000 with my target spec coming in at €369k. I think the t-hybrid is very interesting but my 992.1 Targa remains perfectly usable and the best "adventure" car we've ever owned.

When I visited the first lounge opened in 2023, they had some of the fastest wifi speeds I had ever experienced – at least in public. I was getting well more then 1 Gb/s inside the waiting area.
It is also my understanding that an active subscription is not required for the car to send its telemetric back to Porsche. But has that ever been confirmed as opposed to just what we've observed ?
That Porsche do pay to keep the eSIM connection alive regardless. I'm guessing the need to do so...
Bahama yellow is I think the only yellow colour I could do. A few years ago, my local Porsche Centre in Dublin (the only dealership in the country) had a new yellow 911 Turbo S for a great price. They don't do discounts here due to the small demand and marketplace so this was rare value on a new...
I really don't think Porsche are pivoting away from EV's. You can buy two sizes of SUVs and a four door regular car from them as EVs today and at some stage their first two door sports car EV will get released.
What Porsche have said is that the transition to full BEV will take longer than they...
Like many here, having owned both – I think that is still true. However, Porsche is moving in the right direction with the J1.2 Taycan. The improvements have been real.
In every Porsche dealership in the world, there is some variant of this sign:
I think the real question ahead is will...
