Your VIN number should be available on My Porsche by this stage. Once you have placed you car in your virtual garage it will show you if there are any outstanding recalls/updates on the car. Your dealer can do this as well. As quoted earlier in this thread, if your car needs the WNJ7 update - that is the 12V battery I believe.
I've done this but cannot see any messages on there about outstanding updates/recalls. Whether it's because I've not physically logged into the car or not, I'm not sure (personal services don't work for that reason, it states). Thanks for the tip though, I did wonder if I could/should add it.

I don't think you'll be able to see those campaigns. At least I wasn't. The dealer can though. I posted a screenshot of that page in an earlier post. See https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/12-volt-battery-shortage.12135/page-2#post-179483

Ah OK. Yes the dealer still states it's missing the 12v battery and delivery to them is in November, but has said sometimes it takes a while to catch up. I do not think it has the battery fitted, if I were to guess.

I don't know, I feel like I've read conflicting things, with others saying they heard the batteries are going in chronological order of builds. At least in the US, it doesn't seem like anyone has been leapfrogged yet. Only the June build starts finally got their batteries and made it on a shipping vessel, but none of the July builds have - if they were just going by what's on the production line I'd think some of the later builds would have gotten on a ship before the earlier ones

I was told yesterday (by insider at Porsche GB) that Porsche are giving priority to production line cars over completed cars when it comes to distributing 12v batteries as they become available - not great news for completed cars awaiting batteries! Apparently they do not want the production line to halt and storage of battery-less cars is becoming an issue so I guess they are working their way through it. Good luck to all those waiting.
Whilst this will be hugely disappointing for anyone whose car has been built but with no 12V battery, it is not surprising. This is a far easier solution for Porsche compared to the prospect of managing a rolling queue where each car gets its battery in turn and cars move out of the queue while others move in. It would drag on for months and delay every car. Better in their eyes to do this although seemingly unfair to those who might get a 4-6 month delay after their car is built.

I have managed to speak to A123 Systems who are the producers of the 12V battery. They have let me know that they are still producing the batteries for Porsche but they have a backlog because of PCB (Printed Circuit Board) shortage. So it’s moving, but slowly.
Strange- I heard they had a fire in the factory-

I read that here on the forum too, but ultimately it doesn’t matter does it? We’re all waiting for our cars, and I really hope we get them in order.

For my mental health I need to believe that porsche will ensure a chronological delivery for the batteries

They went on… as we are very concerned there will be a shortage of winter tires in the coming months, we were wondering if you wanted to order them now. You won’t need to pay for them until we install them.
Yes there was a limited supply last winter, and possibly more so here in the UK as we aren’t exactly as huge winter tyre market compared to the rest of Europe. Probably sound advice to order now.

I was told yesterday that all Taycan including my CT were at the dock in Germany waiting for 12v battery to be changed. Maybe another 2 week delay.

Not to be a downer, but by now there must be thousands of vehicles waiting for 12V batteries so I’ve frankly started to accept that I have no idea when one will arrive. I’d be amazed if it would be this year.

It’s becoming ridiculous. My car arrived and is sitting @ my dealer since 29 July.

This “Zero communication strategy” from a top brand is unbelievable. It’s a perfect example of what “not to do to your clients”.

This all process has shift from “dream to nightmare” in 3.7 seconds.

Next porsche I will for sure consider a pre-own (but available) car.

Thanks guys for being here to help overcome this ordeal (I know it sounds kinda stupid. It’s really not a big issue considering other people’s real problems and we are very privileged to have this choice).

I feel you. Mine is here since 5th of August. I’ve even started to eye a pre-owned GTS Sedan, or a 4S e-Hybrid Panamera, but I find it hard to give up my 4S CT which I have configured exactly as I wanted.

I’m also glad we’re a bunch here that’s in it together and I am very much looking forward to reading the first post about receiving the battery.

Looking forward to my CT 4 if I ever get it. Ordered it Nov’21 with an unbelievable timeframe of 4-5 months from the dealer. Firmed up the order in February (just after Vladimir went postal) - delivery date pushed out to June/July and then to August. The car was built in July and is in Germany awaiting its 12v battery. November is the new date Porsche has given my dealer - he showed me on his screen.

I am a bit worried that Porsche will prioritise “in production” cars ahead of stored cars like mine for the 12v battery. Guess it is a first world problem. Hope the car (when it arrives) doesn’t come with a cracked panoramic roof ?
