No update on ours yet, assuming it will be sometime in December now………………do we wait and register in January ?
Not sure any real difference in Dec or Jan registration - do you then wait to get a 23 plate ? I’d get the car and enjoy it!

I suggested that to my dealer when I didn’t have a date and they were not keen….

They are not keen because they have to wait for their commission !

we aren’t bothered about the plate, it will be on a private number but when it comes to sell, it will be a 23 car not 22

Maybe they'll have it draped with tinsel and hung with baubles for you.
I'm sure I'm one of many of us here who will breathe a sigh of relief when you take delivery- and are looking forward to seeing some artistic photos of the mamba over blackberry combo.
Porsche Taycan UK order status and delays? 1669629597621

Here’s one an owner on tne FB page kindly sent me the day before I finally locked down in June.

We chickened out and went Neptune Blue over B’berry in tne end.

Car landed in Sheerness 11 days ago and it’s still not at the dealer. All the outstanding questions based on what I’ve seen here, will It have Bose, Electric steering column etc.? remain to be answered. Despite ordering in July 21 the wait since it landed in the UK has been the worst of all ?

End of March delivery date for me then having taken a call from the SA in Glasgow. :like:

He's hoping the Burmester system is fine as an option as it's always been specced with the car but will confirm when we go in to lock the final spec down. We've got a freeze date at the end of January for that but I'm going to do it ASAP to get it in position.

Think it'll be a 23 plate based on those dates but we avoid the price hike as it's before April.

With corporation tax going up from 21% to 24% though, I think we're as well delaying it to the start of April for delivery if it can be registered then as it'll save another few grand in tax.

I imagine that too is a special-looking combo- contrasting while still being harmonious (I say, channelling my inner Lawrence Llewelyn-Bowen)- not one I can recall ever having seen.

I'd never have thought of combining those colours, but it's an inspired pairing that's a joy to behold.
Glad you think so. That is what mine is like, should be able to post some pix at the end of the week.
I don’t know what the official nomenclature but green and purple are complementary(?) colours.
I have always liked the combination.

Please do. It's even made me overcome my aversion to coloured steering wheels (though I still don't think a Bordeaux one would look good).
(Funnily enough, it was only earlier this morning that I realised my understanding of colour theory- complementary etc- has been wrong. I know what combinations I like, I just didn't understand why.)

My car is finally with the dealership! Should be able to collect within the next few days.
Wondering for those with cars arriving in December are you postponing until 2023, so it’s a 23 rather than 22 registered car?
Similar position to my Macan Turbo i just sold, it was a December 2016 car, I reckon it would have sold for more as a 2017.

I think model year (I.e. MY22 v MY23) and plate year (i.e. ‘72’ v ‘23’) will make far more difference than having a 12/22 registration v 1/23 registration on the V5.

I just chased things up again and the dealer has told me my car is now at the port of Emden! I've asked when the estimate is with them so perhaps I will actually get it in December.

Well if it arrives in December, to @Sidicks point I don't think there's any point delaying it any further it will still be a "72" reg whether it's registered in December or January. So I don't think that it makes a difference. I think a 'P' in the VIN makes even less difference to be honest.

This.

Only time this matters is when they do a facelift on a car when it makes a difference. End of day is that it Is still a 72 plate.

My advice is

1. Get the dealer to register the car with a 72 plate
2. Make sure dealer has two sets of plates made up one your private plate and the 72 plate
3. Ask him to stick the 72 plates in the boot and put your private plates on
4. Give him retention document so he can register - it’s online and takes minutes.

When you sell car and remove your private plates you have the original plates for the car and don’t have to get new ones cut Etc!

Presumably there is no advantage of doing the above if the ‘private’ plate is very specific to the car and hence will be sold with the car anyway?

On that note, what would be a good plate for a 2023 Taycan ST GTS, that isn’t too obviously a private plate?
