Yup, for an electric the emblem would be "20,000 windings".
(probably true)
There are one or two motors, different sizes/power capabilities, different inverters and batteries feeding them - that would be one long emblem describing all that. Maybe "800V" would be a good one, designating the EV architecture.

I'm not debating what the engines run on, we were debated if stating it on the side of a car is really necessary. Personally I don't think so, you may think otherwise.
I have no preference, meaning I’m not offended by “electric”/hybrid, etc. on the side.
The point I was calling out is that you implied we don’t put “gas” on the side of petrol cars.
My counterpoint was maybe we don’t put those exact words but there are other “symbols/words/indicators” we use that denote the vehicle is gas powered, even if that’s not the intent.

You don’t see V12 on the side of anything but a gas powered car, so everyone knows it’s a gas powered vehicle, that’s all.

All forms of gas…but nice try.
Not sure what your point is. There are different fuels, all forms of energy. So what? The discussion here is about whether to have the type of fuel advertised to the outside world on the car emblem. Gasoline, diesel, and natural gas are not interchangeable fuels.

You don't see "Taycan" on anything but a Porsche EV, so everyone must know it's an EV then.

That would imply that everyone knows that a Taycan is electric and we know that they do not (the rest of the world is filled with non owners) Maybe in 10 years you could make this argument.

Perhaps you should go back and read the comment I originally replied to. The argument was made that gas powered cars don’t say “gas” across the side, so why put “electric“, my response was that when we put v8 (insert any number you wish) we all know it’s a gas powered car, so in fact we do advertise it, whether that was the intent or not.
Electric cars don’t have V8 on the side because we know that’s reserved for gas.
You for some reason decided to go into the varying types of gas powered fuel, attempting to make a point I’m not clear on.

We don’t “all” know that, because it’s actually not true. I’ll grant you that there are no V8 electric cars, and maybe that was indeed the point you wanted to make.

You were asking about possible fuels for a V6, so I responded with the possibilities. I have seed "diesel" or even "natural gas" decals on cars, and just saying V6 does not clarify.

People/manufacturers put V8 on a car to indicate the number of cylinders, which indirectly implies the size of the engine, rather than fuel that feeds it. Some cars will have displacement emblems, such as the earlier discussed Mustang 5.0L, which is more directly indicative of the size of the engine.

"Electric" is just fuel type, applies equally to a golf kart as it does to a Taycan Turbo S or Rimac Nevera.

I guarantee that not everyone knows what a V8 means on a car either, or DOHC, VTEC, TDI, even more meaning-suggestive "quattro" , all of which have been on cars for years. Let's not forget badges which have changing meaning, like "Turbo". I bet to most pertol-heads Turbo indicates an ICE engine with a turbo on the exhaust, which we on this forum know is not true for Taycan Turbo or Taycan Turbo S. Most car badges meaning is only fully understood by the people familiar with the car.

We should all go for a drive and relax ?

And yeah, I didn't option it. Don't see the point but I'm ok with whom did. Tastes are very subjective and personal.

Maybe we should all imitate Porsche Beta Testers and plaster a TDI on the back of our cars like they did with the face-lift Taycan not long ago.

Damn! This thread reminds of a Model 3 I saw with "GTS" on the side skirt. I should've taken a picture!

I have come across some people who didn't know Porsche made an electric car. I've also had people ask, "Is that fully electric?" So, I'm sure there are people who've seen the Turbo badge on a Taycan and think it's a turbocharged ICE vehicle. "Whoa where did Porsche hide the exhaust pipes?"

Right on…

My personal opinion is that everything you option (e.g., color, wheels, badges, carbon fiber side skirts, stitching, headrest logo, etc.) is simply a chance to express your personality, and most importantly “have fun” with your purchase. Thank God we’re not all alike - how boring that would be ;)

Now if we simply had a decent high-speed charging network, life would really be good…

How about putting “Turbo” on an electric car - just plain dishonest ?
