Hello All,

i got my RWD 2033 Taycan 10 days ago and got it wrapped with PPF, when i went to collect the car, all screens were dead. (All but the screen behind the wheel) I tried everything to get the screens back on but no luck. (Including the famous 2 finger reset. I went to the dealership and they tried hard reset but no luck.

I’m now at the dealership to get it sorted out, I’ll update you once its done

Update:

the dealership are saying based on the initial diagnosis, there is a connectivity issue between the control unit and the screen

I’ll keep updating
Hi just so you know my 2023 taycan cross tourismo 4s has the same problem for six months as many other Taycans. I am fed up with waiting for an answer from Porsche. For six months. I just got in contact with Porsche customer service filed a complaint many times and gave them three options. One, fix the car by sept 1 or get me a new car or return the purchase price to me. Will keep you up on what happens. As far as I know they know they are having big problems with the pcm ( the computer) and so far no software fix as yet. I would like for everyone on the forum to report to Porsche the problem. Do not complain to your dealer they can do nothing, it is up to Porsche to get off their rear to fix the problem. As far as. For me can’t use the car for long trips with my screens going blank, so the car is useless for my purposes..I have 2000 miles on my car and the screens go black with the whirling blue circle about ever 1/3 time I use the car.

Sorry, but I don't believe it is accurate to say your problem is similar to "as many other Taycans". I've been on this Forum for 3 years and this thread is only the second one I've seen referring to two blank PCM screens. Also, in at least one case a two-finger-reset resolved the problem. If you want to claim this is a widespread problem, please provide some sort of reference point to substantiate that.

I'm sorry you are having an issue, but if it is fairly unique then it may be hardware related (a few cars have needed a new PCM), not software related.

I have seen many posts in last 6 months with screens going blank at least 6 to 10 I do not have copies of them, sorry. I love the car and not trying to bad mouth the product. When I brought my car into Danbury Porsche two weeks ago the the head tech told me they are having same problems on many he said all! 2023 Taycans. My dealer has had a 2023 cross tourismo 4s at the dealer and can not release it until the pcm problems are fixed. I thank you for your answer but they are really having problems with screens going blank and sometimes turning car off for awhile they go back on and in my case most times they go back on next day. I also know you can reset by touching top right of screen. It does not always work. My bottom line when you spend $150 k for a car it should work and not wait for 6 months plus for a fix. Like any further comments, all welcomed.

You're conflating 2 different issues. According to their description and picture, the OP has completely blank (no spinning wheel, not Porsche logo, nothing) screens. You seem to be referencing the common "spinning wheel/Porsche logo" issue that comes up quite often and goes away on its own. The first issue is rare (at least not reported very often on this forum). The 2nd issue is common and will hopefully get fixed in a software update.

Yes I agree the second issue is the one I have been reporting on for months, but I have been told the software fix is coming for six months now as I stated before six months is MY limit to get it fixed. If others are willing to wait all the power to who you are , I’m not waiting any longer.

I completely understand your frustration, especially if it's happening as often as you say ("about every 1/3 time I use the car). It's only happened on my car a handful of times over the past year so it's not a major aggravation for me. I'll enjoy my car and wait for the fix but I don't fault anyone for making a different decision. What's certain is that these software details matter to the overall user experience and Porsche should be much faster in fixing these issues.

thanks for your comments, I am especially annoyed because I want to go to Maine which is about 600 mi from me and can’t trust the pcm to work and map out my stops to charge the car. Short trips don’t really bother me. Again sorry to say 6 mo it should be working properly. Thanks again for your thoughts.

This is a different problem, and can be caused by using a microfiber cloth on the upper PCM screen during system startup. The rubbing across the screen will lock the screen and make it unresponsive to touch.

Stop the car. Get out and lock. Come back in 30 minutes and the problem resolves itself. I’ve learned this the hard way, and simply don’t touch the upper PCM screen from the driver’s side if the system is starting up.

Update:
The dealership has contacted the manufacturer, they advised to open the PCM and change the control unit part. It may take up to 2 weeks.
