Curious on any stats of Taycan getting stolen in Toronto GTA area.

Anyone heard of any Taycan getting stolen in Toronto area? Just see another post somewhere about their Rover getting stolen.
Just thinking of what to get if i get full payout if my new Cross Turismo get stolen. 911 sounds about right given around the same insurance band, but will suck cause of the effort to set up the home charging station. Wish to get a even more expensive car but I am told that anything about $250K will be special insurance.

How on earth do you steal a Taycan? You’d need a flat bed truck and tow it away without anyone noticing, disable the built in GPS tracking so that no one can find the car, then find a way to start the car without a key. The only value would be to steal the car for parts. The average car thief isn’t going to waste time on a Taycan.

Ha! I love (sigh) that the GTA is the capital of car thefts. I haven’t heard the Taycan falling under the banner of “sought after” vehicles being targeted, like Ranges etc. but unfortunately that doesn’t make it 100% safe. My buddy paid a lotta $$$ to equip his Raptor with a 3rd party pin to drive system…..really hope Porsche will implement this sometime soon via OTA (not holding my breath), as it really does add a solid layer of protection

i thought that there is something that you can set up. I know that there is a guest thing, i guess u can disable guest?

If you don’t want it, just sell it. You won’t get any more from insurance, as they look to market data to value your loss anyway.

BTW, this whole thread would look really bad if your car was actually stolen.

NO!!!! i don't want it to be stolen. I love my car. Just saying that worst case scenario, not bad to get something else, like a 911 if the worst do happen.

In your first post you mentioned..

If insurance is already an issue, I would imagine the last thing you want is a high value insurance claim for theft going forward.

You might just get a bit more on the insurance payout over a trade-in, but you may become uninsurable, or at least pay sky high premiums for years.

Think about it from an insurers point of view.
How much have you paid in insurance premiums on the Taycan and how much would a claim be?

Be very careful what you wish for.

I remember when I first got my Tesla in 2014, my insurance was dirt cheap because they weren’t sure what it was too bad those days are long gone for EVs
