Driving the other day and activated my rear screen wiper and the rubber blade just flew off! Car only 4 months old.
Never experienced that in 40 years of driving. I know it’s a minor irritation but wondered if anyone else has experienced this.

Someone on the production chain has certainly forgotten to properly secure the rubber blade... and the final inspection missed that point. I bet it's an isolated incident. Is the wiper arm ok?

Same thing happened with my Panamera Sport Turismo but not my Taycan ST.

Not sure if it's the case now but invariably wiper blades would be fitted ex factory by the dealer and so plenty of opportunity for human error on fitting.

Mine pinged off a few months ago on the M25. My car was fairly caked in road grime and had been parked for 72 hrs before driving off so I’d assumed in my case it had glued itself to the windscreen so that when the motor applied torque it stayed put initially and then when it gave way under the strain it flew off. Took all of my attention to not keep trying to use the rear wiper (now just the metal arm!) on the way home in the foul weather…..

Are they available for sale anywhere or just dealer. A recent halfords search returned nothing!

Interesting …. Maybe they’ll replace for free!

Guessed as much. I imagine they’re only £20 and fitted for free like at Halfords.
Thanks BigBob and others for your advice here -not a big deal at all, just a mild irritation. Appreciate your input and research.
