Model Year: As of 2020 up to 2024
Country / Market: USA (C02) Canada (C36)

Concerns: Vehicle-side charging cable

Cause: When charging the vehicle using Porsche AC charging cables, the charging process may be
interrupted after exceeding the charge port temperature threshold. If this is the case, the following fault memory entry is stored: • P31D200 Charging socket overtemperature.

Actions: • Replace existing charging cable with a new component version with a larger wire cross section.

• Customer awareness: At high ambient temperatures, the charging process may pause or stop
before completion. The customer can prevent this by lowering the maximum charging current in the
Porsche Mobile Charger Connect menu.

Information:
For vehicles equipped with a Porsche Mobile Charger Plus, the AC charger control unit must be replaced
with a Porsche Mobile Charger Connect, as it is not possible to replace the vehicle-side charging cable

separately

Interesting TSB. I wonder if this is only applicable to North America, since you seem to mostly have just one phase supply?

I hidden encounter problems the other day when doing the main battery rebalancing/ recalibration, by charging from low SoC to 100%.

My fault code however was slightly different and stated
Porsche Taycan TSB: Charging Interruption - Overtemperature at the Charging Socket -Vehicle-side charging cable - Dec. 18 2023 IMG_2095

Red light and charge error in car was all I could see though.
’It was a warm sunny day with 32 C in the shade, but the cable and plug did not feel warm or hot to touch.

Yea that’s been my big problem this past year. Granted I live in the south and our summers are pretty warm. This occurs with any charger though not just Porsches. For some reason Porsche can’t code the vehicle to reduce amperage when the socket starts to over heat. Instead they rely on there crappy charger to do it. A big oversight in my eyes. From what I heard a lot of vehicles in Las Vegas would refuse a charge this year during the summer.
