UK - Charger issues, High Temperature

Started a new thread as it’s probably UK related, there is another thread on US but ambient heat seems to be an issue over there

I have an Easee One charger at home, I had to get the first one replaced about 7-8 months ago when it came up with High Temperature and won’t charge. Easee replaced the first without question but I’m sure they will probably questIon a second unit. Is there a possibility the car is at fault? Has anyone one had any issues with there home chargers over heating and having to be replaced

I was having issues with my car not charging fully overnight. I kept getting the app notification 'unable to reach set charge' (pic)
The unit is a Sync EV.

I assumed it was the car at fault.

But I contacted Sync and they monitored it. They said it was cutting out as it was getting too hot.
They also said it was (I'm no electrician) a very high voltage to the house? and that was the cause. Not much they could do about the high level - that would have to be through electricity provider/grid.

But they tweaked the settings to stop it cutting out and it's been OK since.

Not sure but suspect not the car to blame. Have your electrician check the circuit end to end including the EVSE to car cable.

Sine phase or three phase?

Fuse rating?

Why not use your Porschr EVSE for home charging in any case?

Swap them around to rule out the car.

I had similar issues, local grid has voltage at the higher threshold. I de-rated the charger to 30A. Problem solved.

My dealer gave me the name of an installer and never mentioned the Porsche one. Live in the country so single phase, fairly sure it’s 32 amp fused on its own cable from the fuse box

As I mentioned the brother has the same charger installed by the same guy with zero problems. I’m still waiting for Porsche to replace the original cable which went at the same time as the charger. It’s 7-8 months but I’m sure they will

I’ll get the voltage checked as other have mentioned that could be a problem

So try public AC charging to rule out the car as the issue if you don't have your Porsche EVSE to try at home.

Single phase, 32A, fuse box to EVSE, 32A EVSE to car cable & connector, and proper earthing should be the basic recipe.

Ok so looks to be fine then assuming the session didn't complete successfully.

Suggests either your EVSE or the supply - my guess is the supply or termination point where your EVSE connects (the short cable / connector) has the issue.

This is what it did last time, I did not belie its the supply or cable. Have a support away to Easee who have already replied last night and I’ve forwarded to the fitter. On thinking about it the reason the cable is being replaced, it was full of water and stopped working. Yes I do charge outside but would think most do

Hi, what was the outcome of this for you. Im about to start my second warranty call with Easee for the exact same thing.
