Partial leather usually means standard interior. Some people seem to think the seats are only part leather (which they are obviously not). It could be that some people mistake them for the race tex seats that have alcantara side bolsters and cloth midsection.

I have programmed the diamond button but I still need to close out the surround view after backing out of the garage. Also, how do you program the next track on the steering wheel.
The diamond button on the steering wheel can be reassigned to a new function (such as to ‘next track’) if you hold it down.

After backing out of the garage, the surround view should automatically go away after you go into Drive and start moving forward. But you should also see an ‘X’ to close this out manually in the top left of the surround view too.

Some feedback on this.. went to spec my car this morning in Bolton, UK and the best I could get from him was "You can have either a boot liner or the painted key each let me know which you would prefer".

Went through the first four points with him and they went like this..

1. He's never heard of this package! Must be a US thing?

2. See first paragraph. Choice between single bootliner or painted key.

3. Apparently they don't do any window tinting in their dealership. In the UK he said it's illegal to have driver/passenger/front windows tinted at all. People do it, but they could get pulled over. So, I'm wondering whether anyone on this forums from the UK have done this and whether they've gotten into any bother?

4. See first paragraph. Choice between single bootliner or painted key.

5. The first #1-4 went so badly, I felt embarrassed to even try to ask for this :CWL:

Seems like UK Dealers are much tighter than US dealers!
Hey at least you got something! Worth trying.

I think he could at least throw in the All Weather Mats and the Trunk Liner for you. Painted key fob is like $540 option from Porsche, but if you find them on Amazon they're like $25.

Did not know about tinting laws in the UK, sorry about recommending that!

I would just kindly ask that he also include the All Weather Mats for inside the car, as well as the Trunk and Frunk Bootliners. I think that is totally reasonable and something I would do for someone ordering basically $400k worth of vehicles from me.

Good luck and congrats!

Hi,

My 4S build is in, but still have time to make changes (unfortunately). Main options are: Taycan exclusive wheels in black, performance package, power mirrors, high gloss black mirrors and window trim, sport chrono, innodrive, 150KW charger.

I have been swayed to add RWS.
I’m debating adding passenger display. On the fence but definitely get it if there’s a chance my passenger can watch video during the drive.

I’m also reading here that people really like thermal and noise insulated glass. I’m not concerned with noise much in an electric car, but I’d be interested if the glass rejects heat like a tint would? My understanding is the Taycan already has thermal glass protection. If you still need a tint, I think I will pass on this option.

The other option I am interested in is 18-way seats. Is this possible without full leather package? I can’t seem to configure it with the standard interior.
Rear Wheel Steer is my favorite option on the Taycan.

I got the following options in US:
Dolomite silver
14 way seats with ventilation
folding mirrors
25 foot charging cord
rear axle steering
adaptive cruise control & Innodrive
panoramic roof ( forced option ) but only the panoramic roof will take the roof rack
larger battery ( forced option )
park assist & surround view
150 KW charger
lane change assist
steering wheel heating ( forced option with 14 way seats )
range manager
tire sealer & compressor
all season tires
mobile charger connect ( forced option )

I wished I had spec'd the "electric" door badges as they are $0 when ordered, else $150 a pair
See if your dealership will order these for you and install them for you for free. Would be a small ask for them.

What do you guys mean without full leather? I dint think in the uk there was options for partial leather. In fact I wouldn’t ever want a seat that isn’t all covered in leather. Any pics of the us partial leather?
Partial Leather (or Standard Interior) just means that the dash and tops of the doors are not covered in leather, but are instead just an Injected Molded Plastic that looks kinda like leather.

All Porsche's (except Macan) come standard with all Leather Seats, Steering Wheel, and Center Console area (some regions may vary on this).

Does anyone know when the first MY21 cars will start being delivered to customers? Especially cars in the new colours?

Dear forum,

I have been very impressed and happy with my 4s, taken delivery 18 July just outside Oslo, Norway. While driving home from work today, I lost all power, however all instruments were powered on.

The following error message appeared, which translates into: The electrical system of the vehicle is defect. Park the vehicle safely." I tried turning it on and off several times, including several minutes between attempts to try to make the car go to deep sleep. No change. Had to be towed away to the dealer. I know there have been some complaints related to the 12v battery, however this incident happened during driving.

The car had 71% charge, was charged at 1.9 kw for about 8 hours at work just prior to driving, about 16 km (10 miles) when this happened.

Depending on the dealers findings and interventions, I am now very sceptical to drive the car. Any experiences/advice?

There seems to be a lot of examples of these issues but I have not heard how Porsche is addressing them. Are they symptomatic of wider issues from Taycan owners or just isolated one-offs? It would be good to get a view from someone at Porsche about this and what's being done about it...? @LukeManning

Depends on your market. I'd say UK will probably see MY21" Turbo and Turbo S starting to deliver in October-November and then 4S coming slightly after that.

My earliest Taycan delivery here in the states is a MY21' Taycan Turbo S and will be here in the later half of December. I'd expect the bulk of 4S deliveries to start in January-February.

I think this is an issue in relation to a recall performed on early Taycan orders, but I believe they have a permanent resolve now.

@leftang Have you had any recalls performed on your Taycan?

I suspect what he means is that the standard interior has leather seating surfaces with faux leather on other parts of the seat as well as on the doors, etc.

EDIT: Sorry, I had an old version of this thread up when I replied. Others clearly responded before I did.

Can I use either Carlinkit or Cplay2air to make apple CarPlay wireless in the Taycan turbo. If not, is there another option to make Apple CarPlay wireless?

Yeah I was pretty disappointed tbh. We have over 10 years of buying Porsche's from the same dealer. Never received any gifts during this time from other 3 high-end spec'd Panameras.
My dad had his Turbo S on order with a deposit since Mission-E was announced in 2018 and not received anything for that. I see others who pre-ordered received things like metal sketches, but I know this is per dealership basis.
The painted key fob is only £110 in the UK ($150).

When I asked him in person it was like I asked for his left leg! Said he'll see what he can do. Maybe he can deduct the cost of them from a cleaners bill or something? Might have to push him further..
