CarPlay music stops after Siri speaks

My Apple CarPlay experience has been mostly good in 8 months of ownership. Today, though, something strange started happening. I listen to music in Apple CarPlay, and use Siri frequently to play a different song, send text messages, etc. Today, after Siri spoke, the music never came back on. The media screen continued to count the seconds in the song, but no volume. The volume wheel on the steering wheel doesn’t help/work. I found that if I clicked the Porsche Assistant button on the steering wheel once, then twice, the music would come back.

Has this happened to anyone else, and is there a quick fix?

Yes, on occasion. No correlation to what triggers it. Seems to be purely timing. I suspect any potential fix is software-related and on a bug list somewhere.

I’ve had this before, comes and goes. Was constant the first year then got better after July 2022 update and now happens occasionally. I know of no fix.

Updated my phone with iOS 18.0.1 over the weekend and the problem went away. Seems like a car problem versus an iOS issue, but who knows. Thanks all.
