Hello! Happy to join this group. I'm excited to be making move to an EV and have loved Taycan since release. I drive a 2008 Cayenne GTS in Nordic Gold so this will be an exciting switch.

I heard about favourable lease deals for 2020 4s and started watching market. Got lead on a Gentian Blue with color matched Mission E wheels, premium pack, performance battery, PSCB example locally. The quote is for 24 month lease, full CPO, reconditioned. Porsche Finance Canada offering leases for 2020 models (which people here probably already know)

By SA providing discount on sale price to just under 100K, and increasing residual value by changing KM (12k km per year), the numbers have worked out much more favourably than other quotes I was shown - around 500-700 per month less.

Lease is 24 months, 12k km per year, $7k CAD down, $1088 monthly ($1230 CAD post tax), full warranty, reconditioned and curb rash fixed etc. Walk away at end of lease

Sale price $99,980 and residual $81,875

Most of these 'deals' I saw were only for 12 mo lease, which is a little too short for me. In addition to never having an EV, i've also never leased a car. Any thoughts would be appreciated. For reference monthly payment is $900 USD/mo

I would shop around for deals and also look for 2021+ model years. Compare them apples to apples by the effective monthly payment (includes anything down). Agreed upon sales price can be negotiated. 12 mo/15k mi seems to be a better deal. You could always get into another lease after one year. Not sure if the marketplace deals on Leasehackr are relevant to your area, but the leasing information there will definitely be helpful.

I would highly recommend a lease of the J1 it will at least solidify how much it will cost you. For reference I don’t believe at all that 4S will be worth 82k in two years.

Thank you - pardon my ignorance is J1 the redesign for 2025?
I agree 82 seems high but in this case I think the higher they estimate residual value the better it works in my favour for used lease. Also this is CAD

Precisely I think you are making out on that. With that said you may be able to find a left over 24 for a better deal. The J1 is the 2020-2024 J1.5 is 2025+

It doesn’t have to be worth $82k at the end of the lease because its a walk away lease. I just did a similar deal on a 2020 Taycan 4S but I went with a 12 month lease. INSANE DEALS on those 2020s right now!

No exactly that’s why I think it’s a good deal as if you would buy it you would have to eat the extra depreciation. Most likely that will be a high 50 low 60 car by then.

The numbers were even more favorable for 12 month, initially only 12 month was offered. But since theres 2 years left of CPO I thought might be good to prevent myself from being lured into looking for another car for 2 years.
Out of curiousity, what was your monthly rate/deposit, and location? thanks1
