Apple CarPlay will not connect, asks to be connected via usb?

As the title suggests,
CarPlay used to connect wirelessly but now asks for a usb!
Also says Wi-Fi and Bluetooth need to be activated,
Wi-Fi says function not available!

doing my head in, car went in to have a new pcm fitted, looks like it has old software fitted and can not connect CarPlay,

any ideas?

Do you have a model year 2025?

I have a 2025 and all connectivity is currently borked, including CarPlay.
I am taking it in this week for a whole bunch of software updates. Car was built in August.

Make sure your phone isn't connecting to the wifi of your Taycan that is used for hotspot ... if it does, go in your phones settings and make it "forget" the Taycan wifi so it doesn't auto-connect to it.

edit: well not sure about this, but worth a try

We might be able to help more if you post a picture of your entire PCM display, especially the upper right corner.

As written above, your phone needs a BT and Wifi connection to the car, but not the hotspot.
You will see the higlighted Carplay icon in the phone connection menu.
That should solve the problem, alas no other issues.

When I click on Wi-Fi settings on the car it says function not available.

2 month old 25 model Taycan btw, was all working fine until dealer replaced pcm.

Will be ringing them on Monday.

Search networks with your phone!
There should be a carplay-network available.
The error you describe could refer to a non-existing hotspot.

Ok, maybe another PCM problem.
Those steps should work.

Remove the car from CarPlay on the phone - settings , general, CarPlay.

Remove the Taycan from the WiFi and Bluetooth . Then run through the CarPlay setup on the car.

Yep done all that twice! Done a 2 finger reset, and did a factory reset and then went through the set up etc, same result every time.

Encountered the same issue after dealer performed a programming fix. Brought it in recently and supposedly need to wait for another new update.
