Not able to connect to car via APP

Here's a fun situation... Last night after dinner I tried to pre-heat the car (it was a cold evening for Austin TX) and the app would not talk to the car at all. I even killed an restarted the app but it gave me an error message about not being able to communicate with the car. My phone had a good network connection available an the car should have too. I let me wife know what was happening and she opened the app on her phone and connected to the car right away and started the pre-heating session.

My phone usually connects to the car without much fuss. I don't have a good explanation for this besides the possibility that our accounts are on different backend servers and the server hosting my account could have been having an issue at the time. I'm a bit baffled about this behavior.

Since day 1 this feature has been problematic and unreliable at best. Since uPdate this last quarter it has definitely improved but still not 100% unfortunately.
