Whilst I absolutely love owning my Taycan and cannot think of an EV I would prefer, there are some absolutely shockingly bad annoyances, some of which I believe are still present in facelift.

Charging
- The app and in-car interface is the worst I have seen in any brand. This problem has been solved many times over in super simple ways eg Tesla, Kia etc yet the Porsche software engineers decided to invent an obscure enigma interface that often lets me down.
- Poor tolerance to imperfections, often if something happens to power supply or charger the car refuses to recover and resume charging, whereas my wife’s Tesla just tries again periodically and resumes if supply is good.
- I have had one charging door failure already (replaced under warranty) but it seems like something that will probably fail again and there are 2 on the car.

Interior
- The phone charger - worst in any car I have owned or used, what were the designers thinking?
- The passenger screen is super underpowered, often becomes unresponsive and is pretty useless except for allowing passengers to change songs in a poor interface ( no CarPlay on passenger screen)
- Arm rest is designed for contortionists.
- Back seat design seems to make very little use of the very wide frame of the car.
- PCM is awkward, changing a radio station when using car play and switching between two is a daily PITA.

Exterior
- Cameras are positioned poorly and the view from them is what I imagine a fish with a swollen eye sees.
- The washer for reverse camera in mine washes some random part of the car (needs fixing but I see a lot of people with same problem)

Other
- OTA updates seem to be a fabled feature at least compared to brands like Tesla where the updates are frequent and useful

Despite all these genuine annoyances I do love the car, it drives like nothing else I have tried and it looks amazing.

Anyone else agree/disagree with these?

I agree to all your points except the charging issues. UI is ok, charging door is cool, charging speed is phenomenal.
The car is such fun driving though, so I do not focus enough on those issues to get close to annoyance.
It just doesn't really matter to me.

Agree on all points. The charging interface is bonkers until you figure it out, and then it's fine. I, too, had a charge door replaced under warranty. The phone charger is so dumb I turned it off in the PCM. And the armrest is... I thought Germans were smart and meticulous... (facepalm).

But the car is so fun to drive. So alive and dynamically enjoyable. It makes all the silly and stupid things tolerable.

I agree with everything, and the list goes on.
Many people including myself has a list of things that Taycan can improve, but still love the car because of driving experience.

But the funny thing is I've never seen a single Taycan drives fast or make aggressive turn on a road, I'm not referring to reckless driving, just every Taycan I saw drive like a Camry.

All points are valid.
My mindset is that it is a special car so compromises to be expected.

Charging - I agree that charging UI is not logical and terminology is confusing, but I got used to it and now it is second nature. I have full use of Direct, Profile, and Timer as designed. My electric charging doors are holding up, but I know they are fragile.

Phone Charger - I prefer wired charging anyway. J1.1 wireless charging is useless, but it has been revised for J1.2 so it is more powerful and now has cooling.

Armrest at least holds open starting with MY23 I believe as I am using it just fine.

Backseats are kind of cool as if you are taking people to space in a small spaceship capsule.

OTA expectations is a bit of a stretch to expect from a Porsche on the first run. However, to be fair the PCM should be faster in a 2020+ world, as it is painfully slow, but you learn to press and wait. I did not find Macan EV PCM to be an improvement.

Cameras are known to be poor but not unique to Taycan.

Can't say I agree with any of that.

Some of your option choices have let you down - passenger screen is a more or less a pointless (expensive) option easily determined by trying before buying.

Much debate on charging UI but personally I've never had issue in 4+ years.

OTA continues to deliver map updates flawlessly and I'm happy that major functional updates to the car are generally precluded as I view this as a potential safety risk otherwise.

My 360 cameras work well and never presented a situation where I can't see what I need to see - side view mode is marvellous.

Rear seats rarely used but as per the Panamera the Taycan is a 2+2 first and foremost.

If you want gadgets and a bombardment of software updates then I guess Tesla and others are where it's at but if you want the best driver's EV then it surely must be a Porsche.

Buy an Audi Q8 etron and use it for a while, it might just change your mind - my wife drives one. Then again. I hear the VW ID BUZZ UI is horrible, but I never experienced it, so it's just from internet reviews.

Taycans do not have any meaningful OTA, only apps on the PCM, not even the host OS for the PCM. Porsche had big plans, even equipped the car with hardware for it, but never got it to work. As a traditional automaker their biggest problem is that they don't own most of the software in that car, so if the owner is not supporting OTA, there is nothing Porsche can do. Tesla is vertically integrated, they write most of the software for their cars.

I don't think Taycan is able to connect to home Wifi
First OTA update should be allowing Taycan to connect to Wifi, updating PCM through wireless internet is too slow and unreliable.
But on the other hand after experiencing Porsche's software engineering, maybe it's a good thing they don't deploy OTA updates to thousands of cars at once.

Were you not aware that you could test drive the car before you bought it? It certainly seems you would’ve been happier with some sort of Kia and we would have been happier not hearing your whiny complaints on the Taycan Forum.

J1.2 (as per Macan EV) I think now supports external hotspot connections.
