Yes, that is what I think it will be. What would be a rationale for anyone to pay anything for the car that requires immediate spend on extended warranty for the car and warranty on HV battery.
Depreciation - yes, no surprise to anyone, but you are getting all this back with smiles per mile that, in my view, no other car in this price range can deliver.
Tire Life - what wheels and tires do you have? I think it is respectable for what it is with my 21-inch all season tires lasting 15k...
I use simple math of my own:
4 years or 50k miles Turbo trim depreciation is 75%: $200k->$50k
8 years or 100k miles Turbo trim depreciation is 100%: $200k -> $0k
After 8 years and 100k it is basically going negative as you need to pay for extended warranty to protect from expensive breakdowns...
I see no benefit of buying extended warranty at the time of purchase. I would just monitor prices as you progress through the miles (since years do not matter) and then get it before you reach 50k miles and make sure you are covered to 100k miles to align with the HV battery warranty.
Also, I...
This is called a rebalance and documented in the official TSB.
The car reports Range via a calculation using the worst cell capacity in the pack.
The rebalance levels up cell capacity so the Range reported by the car increases, but only temporarily, at least on the J1.1 cars.
I rebalance every...
Please post full spec/build so we can review.
I agree with others, while CPO, be sure all recalls are complete.
Dealers can do battery health check but will not do it for free as official procedure requires it to be completed over a couple of days of time. You can do your own spot health check...
It is a WSS4 that caused the rate drop from 11kW to 9.6kW. I am confirming this along with several others on the forum.
WSS4 = charging‑system reliability update (onboard charger / AC charging).
WST2 = PCM / infotainment / navigation / connectivity update.
I wonder if we have any avenue in the US to get our 11kW rate restored for J1.1 cars that charged at that rate with no problem until this year OTA update that reduced it to 9.6kW and dealers acting like they have no idea what's going on and after I called PCNA corporate, they pretend that there...
I think the most probable outcome is that the car will be totaled since this is a 2020 4S and its current market value regardless of miles will be less than the $50k quoted to replace the battery. Keep in mind that the replacement will include the battery, the cooling system, and the battery...
This is due to over the air WSS4 update. After this update the L2 charging speed is reduced by 20% with max 40Amp regardless of your EVSE output. We have discussed this at length on this forum so you can look this up under this update code to find more info.
That is their new corporate posture to charge for q and a time.
Electrical error indicates bad cells. So they should provide you with a diagnostics report and proof of external influence. Pictures you shared do not tell me anything is wrong.
Next step is to have your insurance involved...
Let me follow the chain of events, so please confirm:
- You brought the car that was working but did you have any errors indicating that there was anything wrong with the car
- When you bring the car in, at least here a couple hours away from you, in Indianapolis, the car is scanned including...
Played a guess game with my family by covering the brand.
Guess 1 was: China went super budget to make the car cost below $25k to finally better BYD.
Guess 2 was: Japanese compact budget car to undercut overpriced cancelled Sony car.
Guess 3 was: Not a real car and made for movies like the next...
I would do a couple of things.
- First, ask the forum or hopefully someone on the forum with a 2020 can reply if they have been able to successfully charge at a Tesla SC to eliminate that somehow 2020 is different enough for not allowing charge
- Second, just because a station checks out with...
They need to do a survey to show the car without the badge but with specs and no price and see what feedback they get and how much people would pay for this. Initial impression is important as it should take your breath away (the way Mission-E did), but this is ugly, I am sorry, and who said...
