One of my search options for second hand was the color (chalk, fronzen blue, frozenberry and Gentian. All others were nogo). It took me more then 7 months to find the right one (color and spec). My market was Germany so a lot to choose, far more then in the Netherlands....

This is a 2nd hand purchase and so the options are impaired
True, so enabling the OP to deduce the relative depreciation rate of each colour and other options by comparing config and price of currently listed used vehicles.

I watched the use pricing for Taycan 4CRs nationwide in the U.S. for about five months and recorded everything in a spreadsheet, weighted the features and then ran them all through ChatGPT. I found in my non-scientific analysis, that sports features ranked most valuable (faster car= more money), then safety features. I also found that colors went FASTER.

I wanted a color. At any given moment, there were about 20 4CT available for sale in the U.S. Almost all were Black, White or Grey. If a Mamba Green or Frozen Blue Metallic popped up, they were sold in less than a week. Carmine red sold in about a week. Maybe I saw a Frozen Berry.

I'll probably get razzed for this, but It's my humble opinion that most people buy black, white or grey to (1)because it's cheaper or (2) because they think other people value those colors more or resell , not because they like them more. (Before you respond with a anger filled post about how you love black, I'm sure you do. I'm generalizing.)

Back to your original question. I purchased mine for about 50% what someone (bless his heart) purchased it new about three and a half years earlier. The differential price (or speed when you sell it) based on color will not have a material impact on your used sale price. (Although you might sell it just a smidge faster if you get a color.)

All that said, I LOVE Mamba Green and get tons and tons of complements. Plus, I feel it's safer/people are more likely to see me in a snow storm or at dusk/less likely to hit me. Although I am concerned that cops will think, "Hey, let me pull over that sexy bright green show off porche, instead of the other guy in the less flashy car going a little faster..."

Frozen blue, berry or mamba green Taycan are the closest thing to a distinctive PTS vehicle without the $14k upcharge ?

All colors have their fans. This is why Porsche sells them. If a color doesn't sell, it gets eliminated. Mamba Green was discontinued, implying it wasn't selling a lot on Taycans. Apparently same for Carrera White (perhaps people couldn't tell the difference from White, and if paying extra for a color they went with Ice Grey or Chalk?).

Can colors hurt the sale, sure, but it has to be a particularly unique combination nobody wants. While I was shopping for 20 months for my Taycan (2021-2023), I tracked the market closely, hoping to perhaps find one for myself. While Taycans were flying off the lots, with dealer having none even available for a test drive, and charging MSRP+ for 2 year old Taycans, or MSRP+$50K for new ones, I remember there was one pink (PTS?) Taycan with brown or red interior with green seat belts and deviated stitching and a few other odd choices which really clashed. That Taycan sat on the lot for months, there was even a discount eventually (unheard of during those times). It was probably a cancelled order, though I wondered whether it might have been a result of some bet between dealers whether or not you could spec a Taycan that would not sell in the hot market.

My take on the initial post is this...

You will not be 'selling' your taycan; you'll hand it back at the conclusion of your lease or PCP. The likelihood of any 'asset' in the car is very slim.

If you're buying a new taycan and paying cash you clearly have money to burn so go with whatever spec you want. After 4 years you wont care if you've lost £85 or £87k the loss will still be extreme.

Either way - get the spec you want. It really wont make much difference.

As a person who trades cars as opposed to selling privately, no dealer has ever commented on the color of said car. The "value" is determined by the amalgamation of cars on the market as well as desirabiltiy, etc. The dealers are essentially colorblind and the car color rarely has bearing in the vehicle price...except pink cars with brown interiors

Avoid Mamba Green, Frozen Berry, Beige and Frozen Blue - marmite colours

Gentian Blue, Volcano Grey, Black, Silver, White (various including Ice Grey) are all safe for resale.

Personally, black then grey (not a fan of white).

Check the UK dealer stock and look at the colour filter to see a profile of popular colours

Interior - two tone black / crayon or black. black / beige is probably safe too. Avoid blueberry (marmite again).
Funny - I love all the colors on the avoid list, both interior and exterior. Black and white is so boring! (Clearly I’m in the minority)

Not at all but the concern was on resale and the more daring colours aren't easy to sell in UK market. You can get lucky but chances are not.

Sadly true, Brits go for boring colours, or no colour at all..
