Having come from Tesla Models 3 and Y... I prefer the Taycan too - better build quality and sporty handling. The Teslas are more like... appliances... while the Taycan is more like an... enthusiasts car.

I definitely prefer Taycan over Model S (bought 4 of them), but gotta say that the Taycan has had a lot more issues and spends way more time in service than any of my Model S. So perhaps an automotive masochist enthusiast car? ;)

I am dreading having to drop my car off to fix a likely suspension issue with my 3 years old Taycan. Google Gemini AI claims 3 years is about the expected life of Porsche suspensions for heavy cars like the Taycan, so apparently this is not unusual for someone driving spiritedly on public roads (my Taycan has has never been tracked to date).

Between all the recalls, failed OBC, electrical error, failed heater, my Taycan is spending a month a year in service. All 4 Model S I owned got some TLC from service in the first 0-4 months of their life, after that they were mostly solid (has some issues with infotainment MCU and a door handle, took care of those myself). So Taycan just seems so much more fragile of a car. The first real Tesla breakdown costed me ~$350 dollars after 7 years, some valve was leaking coolant. Oh, needed new 12V batteries every 4 years, and those were ~$200. I'm afraid to even look up how much a 12V battery for the Taycan will cost (from what I read, 10x the cost of Tesla 12V battery). I dread even more thinking what keeping the Taycan on the road post warranty would cost.
