I have been watching the Siem Confucius since it left Emden last week, using the MarineTraffic app. Today I happened to glance at its progress and saw that about noon or so it had made a hard turn to the left and then it pretty much stopped, appearing to drift with ocean currents. And 9 hours...
And by all accounts the car has about zero vampire drain unlike the Tesla. So for me, using the Taycan as my DD, I should be charging it less than I did my MS. Vampire drain in that car drove me nuts.
Same here! I think the car is a go and I appreciate all of the feedback. The Confucius left Halifax last night and is due at Davisville 6 am Sunday morning. I think the car will beat the expected dealer arrival date of 7/10. Have Xpel, Ceramic, and window tint lined up for right after I take...
I live in Virginia where radar detectors are deemed to be illegal. That did not stop me in my GTS which had a hidden system....saved my bacon more than once and paid for itself by avoided ticket costs. Will need to get my hands on the new car in a couple of weeks to decide about system...
Thanks for all of the comments guys, keep em coming as I think this thread is beneficial to a large audience. Here’s a pic of the ship my car is on, the Siem Confucius. I got the pic from a Halifax NS webcam video that captured the ship’s arrival there this morning. This was the first Atlantic...
Would like opinions from those that have operated a Taycan for a while. Specifically, if you could do it again would you still buy it? My Taycan will serve two purposes when and if I take delivery: it will be a sports car, and it will also be my daily driver for running errands, etc. My kids...
Better have a towing service on retainer for when you arrive at charger(s) that are out of service.
Observations:
If you live in the upper midwest you are SOL
I-20 from South Carolina to Texas needs chargers
Need chargers in WV. If you are attempting to go from VA to OH you are SOL without...
The rear end reminds me of the Macan which is good. The front end reminds me of the Batmobile which is not good. All of the plastic on the side reminds me of a Subaru. Porsche has some work to do on this one.
Yep it has a lot, but I got a very generous discount which made it palatable. So the reality is it is probably less $ out the door than a Taycan Turbo with popular options for which someone paid full MSRP. And from what I have gathered most dealers are currently offering little if any discount...
Bought a cancelled order (Turbo) which is pretty close to how I would have specced it. Color, wheels, interior are perfect. It is aboard the Siem Confucius which is due to arrive at its first stop, Halifax NS, on 6/25, then on to Davisville, RI. With any luck delivery at my dealer will beat the...
That looks like excess sealant that was not trimmed off prior to the car entering the paint shop at the factory. I imagine if you poke it with a small flat head screwdriver you will find it is flexible. If it is sealant it can be trimmed off with a very sharp trim knife. But I’d point it out...
Gorgeous color! For those who have Volcano Gray, does it show dirt easily, and how difficult is it to keep clean? I once had a JBM 911 and it was a nightmare, seems all I did was wash it. Hope VG is different as I like the color a lot. Thank you.
August works for me, just as long as I know it is coming eventually. Just like the issues other owners are reporting, I’m ok with them for now if there is a fix on the horizon.
I called again today and spoke to someone else, and as has been stated by others, ACP does not work wirelessly, it definitely requires a wire. But was also told Porsche is working on wireless ACP which will work for 2020 models, but there is not a timeline for when it will be rolled out. This...
That certainly settles it, thanks. I’ll call tomorrow to see if I can find out from someone more knowledgeable what the plan is for sw upgrades for MY 2020.
