Indeed! That is such a bad response, copied straight from VW PR department..
That is why when reporting to NHTSA it is important to describe not only the problem but also the dealer's response so the investigator has a better picture of reality.
The media certainly have a wrong description talking about the 12v battery cutting off. Maybe they confuse the 12v brick issue with the power loss while driving. When the power loss while driving happens the 12v supply is fine, the screens are on but the car does not move. At least this is the...
I encourage everyone who has experienced the issue in the US to file an NHTSA report online. It is free and easy. The short description of the incident and what the dealer did is also very useful for the investigation.
Great finding!
Interestingly even the April 28th revision of WMA5 TSB has the same versions 0012 and 0011 as the original TSB (dated March 26), so it doesn't look like WMA5 update itself was changed at least until the end of April.

Almost certainly you cannot see the versions of the various modules in PCM. You never could. They only thing you can see is the PCM and the User Interface version.
For example, WMA5 upgraded the car from version 8.x to 12.x but that was not user visible.
That sounds about right. Probably the 2023 model will have less issues.
It took them a year to send out a bug fix for the 12v drain and the fix added this motor control error bug and bricked so many cars to the point dealers stopped deploying the update and they wait for a revision.. So yes, it...
Thank you!
I guess that almost confirms there is a bug introduced in WMA5/6 update We don't know how many cars are affected but Porsche knows about the issue and has patch. They have not yet released a recall and it is unclear if/when they will ever patch the affected cars unless they stall...
Please report it online to NHTSA.
There is a big thread about this issue here https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/i-lost-all-power-in-the-outside-lane.2950/post-69487
It is alleged it is a new bug introduced by the latest software update and it has happened more than once to some owners...
Your dealer certainly did a better job. Mine just touched the passenger door and ignored the others. Btw, they wrote in my service order that they added foam so it is up to Porsche's standards :P
Did it fix your rattles? Can you also circle back after a month?
Usually removing and installing the door panels fixes the issue temporarily but it comes back because the gap is still there by design (i.e. it is a bad design).
It does exactly as it says. It warns you and sometimes applies the brakes if it thinks you are going to hit something in front. It has a sensitivity setting.
At medium sensitivity it has given me a false positive warning (but no braking) once in 5 months and also one true positive (my foot was...
There is no TSB in the NHTSA site about Taycans stalling while driving. Porsche might be aware of this but there is no official fix or communication until now.
In my humble opinion Porsche takes way too long to fix the known issues and even longer to deploy them and they are far from...
Any idea if the software update (or some wrong step that the dealer performed) resulted in the motors need re-calibration? It doesn't sound like a coincidence that problems started right after the update.
yeah, this topic and these documents have been discussed extensively in other threads

I have shared many TSBs from the NHTSA site in this forum. The only problem is that it is lagging behind about a month. The May TSBs will be on the site around June 10 or so.
It also includes a lot of useless docs, like TSBs for equipment and list of approved engine oils... (because it was...
Did you add 9% tax on the buy calculations? That would be $13500.
Also I don't think you can compare a 3 year lease vs a 5 year load. If you plan to keep the car more than 3 years then probably buying is the way to go.
The US dealers cannot install anything to new cars unless there is Technical Service Bulletin from motherland asking them to do so. For example, there is a bulletin asking the dealers to upgrade PMCC.
I personally doubt there is an official patch yet. I believe the member who said the dealer...
You have to find your own electrician and you have to pay them.
If you don't you can probably use a regular 120V wall outlet but charging speed will be very slow. You can probably get 20-40 miles or with overnight charging.
here is another review for the RS e-tron GT.
It also mentions that steering is not as direct as the Taycan's (around 5:00) but overall is a positive review for the e-tron and its handling.
EV-aside, I am surprised by the low numbers of Alfa Romeo and Honda and the high numbers of Dacia and Suzuki.
Suzuki selling more than Honda is a huge surprise for me who is living in the US where Suzuki has stopped selling cars because they were simply very behind in terms of techology...
