Wow, that's a beautiful SUV, it sure moves out! 11.5 sec 1/4 and 3.6 0-60? Plus all that luxury and quality...so nice. Everyone seems to love hybrids as well, they're a great transition between gas only and full electric.
It must be a tough pill to swallow, for the long standing German manufacturers to work out agreements with a young upstart company like Telsa. I remember a friend (not fond of EVs) who worked at MB saying many derogatory things about T, "let's see how long they last..." etc. I can only imagine...
Weighing in with my EV experience only but my older T gets 388km in hot summer weather and takes up to a 30% hit in -10 to -20 cel winters here in Canada. As others have said, I think a mid trip top up would reduce this white knuckle drive!
My tidbit to add:
my sister in law just picked up her MY23 X Plaid and it has a few issues (alignment of falcon doors) but overall she’s happy with it.
My cousin has a Y with FSD and loves it. He demonstrated auto summon (remote request with phone) at the country club parking lot and it came...
I know you’re right I keep getting updated notifications from AutoTrader for price drops on Taycan. The car dealer I’ve been using said he’s afraid to take them in - they just don’t sell. Kind of worries me.
I think everyone is out, travelling this summer, and the last thing on their mind is...
Thank you for this great and detailed reply. I’m just curious why you’re replacing your ‘20 so soon, is it a leased car? How is the range on yours now?
Do you really think the big refresh will be in MY28 and not 25? Thinking about how Porsche seems to get 8 years out of a platform, you’re...
I know what you’re saying, and yes, I can get a little caught up on tech specs. On the other hand, everything that I love about the Taycan I can’t get on the Tesla. The only solution would be to own both, and I just don’t drive enough to warrant two big electric cars. I found the T’s interface...
this is what I’ve found as well. I didn’t take note of the the Porsche’s numbers, but “felt” better than the number if displayed, if that makes any sense? The newer Model S feels worse than rated, and to be honest I don’t know how one would achieve even close to EPA numbers. This was my little...
I knew it, and for 2 reasons:
1) in my past, serious audiophiles (sorry if that’s an outdated term now) had ZERO interest in better systems for their cars. A basic factory system was fine
2) of all the used Taycans we’ve looked at, exactly 2 of them had the Burmester, and none had than and the...
Yes I’ve got a 14-50 plug I installed for the Porsche to test charging and have something for friends to use if anyone needs to top up.
You’re right it’s probably not an issue. It’s funny when I look at the Electrify Canada maps it looks like the early days of Tesla in 2015. Clutters mid country...
Thank you for all the messages so far, I absolutely love and appreciate them, especially the stories about how the Taycan evoked emotion from others that simply got a drive in one. My grandson, while overseas, was telling everyone his papa drives a Porsche. ? it was a loaner but yes, that...
Is your home audio system…a Mark Levinson or Burmester?! I used to dabble in high end home audio and had a nice 20k system many years ago but I sold it and ended up with Yamaha which sounds quite nice. But I’d love to know what system you’re using. Thank you for your thoughtful message it was...
...to not have experienced a Porsche?! It's what my aunt is saying. She works for a national auction company, she's driven just about everything out there, and says I should "just get a porsche, you'll love it!"
I'm a bit of a tech guy and I'm caught caught up on the 375KM range on a full full...
Great post!
Add to list: “I will never give up my blackberry keyboard”
refusal to go to CDs because of the warmth of vinyl. Similar argument against streaming…too low a bit rate!
It seems like the popular thing to do. I’m convinced it’s a lack of understanding. Some people get angry when they don’t understand something.
While in England I got into a heated discussion about EVs with an Uber driver. The conversation went poorly. My wife was worried she would get a bad...
