Scheduled Deliveries For March 2023 - Post Yours

You mean you won't be here to hold my hand as I pace back and forth for the next 5 days?? ? At the moment I don't even care about the paint protection stuff. Knowing me, it'll get a rock chip on the way home and I'll just be like, oh well too late, $8k back in my pocket. I'm just freaking...

Scheduled Deliveries For March 2023 - Post Yours

Well, SA just emailed me to update on what I already knew, that the ship is arriving later today and he said to expect my car by the end of next week. Yay I am so happy for you!!!!! Car is gorgeous!! You got my wheels too! My car is at Baltimore and no change to TYD yet, and now I'm...

Do you guys pay markup or MSRP for your Taycan?

No ADM here in SE Michigan. I expected MSRP but I wasn't going to accept an ADM. Spending 25+ years haggling with dealers has finally worn me out I think. I never thought I'd say it, but I'm happy to finally just pay "the price" and be done with it. Being a newbie Porsche buyer I didn't want...

All Taycan deliveries being held at port due to needing new heaters

Well, SA just emailed me to update on what I already knew, that the ship is arriving later today and he said to expect my car by the end of next week. I replied asking him if any other of his recent incoming Taycans have had a stop sale or production delay. It would be cool if he was like, "We...

Denting near headlights and other things I noticed on my new Taycan

I'm anxiously awaiting an update too. I know all the guys here are fuming and rightfully so, but from my female point of view I also just feel so bad for you. I know I'd be the same and think it's probably just me being unreasonable or clueless before realizing it's not. I know you'll rip...

Scheduled Deliveries For March 2023 - Post Yours

The TYD for the Cicero is way off, I'm sure partially because she hit some rough waters and headwinds a few days ago and had to slow to a near stop for a while. The original VW Ship schedule has arrival in Davisville 3/14 and Houston 3/22. So add at least 3 days for Houston. My TYD shows...

Scheduled Deliveries For March 2023 - Post Yours

I'm pretty sure the updated TYD no longer posts the ship name. I'm sure the dealer knows, but I just assumed mine based on the port schedule. Siem Cicero as well, btw. Wonder how long it stays before it departs again for Baltimore.

    Is Porsche using cheap materials?

Oh wow, thank goodness I read all this stuff here. Sure I have a lot of manual reading left to do, but now I know to nix the headlight PPF. Stinks though, because in addition to our Michigan sand, salt, and busted roads, I also live less than a mile from a quarry! The rock trucks always...

All Taycan deliveries being held at port due to needing new heaters

And by the way, when I cancelled the PPF she told me not to worry, and "it is happening to more people than I can believe right now. Just keep me posted and we will do our best to schedule you in when it arrives." Considering they probably have a large luxury car clientele, and there's been...

All Taycan deliveries being held at port due to needing new heaters

I put down $1k in Sept ‘22 to get on the 4S waiting list. Got an allocation in mid December, which I wasn’t expecting at all. Lock was early-mid Jan. and production was Feb. 15-21st. Went to port, got on the expected ship. SA never took an unreasonable deposit, has been as helpful and...

All Taycan deliveries being held at port due to needing new heaters

I know, I feel really bad, that’s why I plan to cancel today. I know it’s gonna be rough to reschedule because she said I was “penciled-in” right before the busy season. Here in the Detroit area, once the sun comes out, the classic car parades and all that stuff starts. She said in April the...

All Taycan deliveries being held at port due to needing new heaters

In my case, there are definitely upsides to a delay, as long as I know what is going on. I’d be fine with a little more time to spruce up the garage, make/save some more money for stuff, plus I’m getting my hardwood floors refinished in a month and I’d love for my car to NOT arrive into a cloud...

    3 Random questions

!!! I haven't manually pushed the button to lock my Honda in 6 years!! I rarely even pull the key out of the bottom of my bag. Woah, and here I am all worried about my paint and getting a dashcam... never mind the fact I'll probably get it stolen before any of that matters. I just downloaded...

All Taycan deliveries being held at port due to needing new heaters

Your car hasn't been produced though, right? It seems we have 3 cohorts now, with production being delayed purportedly another month or so, people with cars holding at a port for some untold amount of time, and then the ones floating at sea or pulling into the harbor waiting for the shoe to...

Need Advice on PPF and Car Washing for the Unwashed

Oh no stealth for me, sorry! I want this color to sparkle and shine!! There are so many nuances to it that I feel wouldn't be fully appreciated with a stealth wrap. But I'm all for sending pics when all is said and done! As an aside, the contract was up on my and my daughter's phones, so I...

All Taycan deliveries being held at port due to needing new heaters

My dealer says the same, but has ANYONE yet gotten a heads-up on their delay before the car has hit the port? It seems like dealers/customers are getting word some time after... that's why I'm still jittery.

Scheduled Deliveries For March 2023 - Post Yours

Gotta love how TYD shows my car sitting happily in Baltimore when it's actually a little past Bermuda headed to Davisville, RI first. At least the date tracker still shows it firmly at step 8. Well, the little tracker map was fun while it lasted :D.

Need Advice on PPF and Car Washing for the Unwashed

Thank you so much, and yes all the responses have been IMMENSELY helpful. I know if I spring for full PPF it's highly doubtful I'll be outside with a couple of buckets every week or two. Heck, without PPF I probably wouldn't either... but then I'd be stressed out constantly and hating myself...

Porsche says “significant price increases” coming middle of this year

That's what they should say to customers but he was talking to investors. They wouldn't see anything regarding price and profit increases as unfortunate, especially if stated with optimism and confidence. Marketing can worry about their captive customers later...
