We’ve got 2 MBs right now and the Porsche dealer I ordered my Taycan from is co-located with the MB dealer. The new SL is AWESOME! And I love the color you chose. Although 2 different cars, if given the choice of a “base“ 911 or SL, I’d strongly consider the SL. Now… the Targa I specced out for...
It sounds like something somewhat similar is available if you install a BlackVue dash cam but it’s not as sophisticated as Sentry mode because I believe that uses all of the exterior sensors of the car.
Thanks for the feedback. It confirmed what I assumed. I just couldn’t figure out why people pay for it so I was wondering if there was something magic about it that I was unaware of.
I’m looking to possibly cancel my Sirius XM subscription and just go with the streaming SXM app when I get my Taycan and using CarPlay. I’m looking for feedback on the benefits of paying for the hotspot built-in to the car. It seems like I can just stream from my phone with my monthly unlimited...
The only info I have regarding that is what I’ve read in other posts. It was mentioned that a law was passed at some point that prevents manufacturers from voiding a warranty for a modification that had nothing to do with the warranty claim. So, in this case, it sounds like if you had an issue...
It’s your truck so do what you want and ignore what others say. While I appreciate the ”original-ness” of old cars, they are junk even in new condition. Going full EV sounds cool but sounds like a giant PITA trying to reengineer everything not to mention A LOT of money. It’s your money, though...
Sorry, I wasn’t completely clear… I’ve placed my order but waiting on production so I don’t have hands on experience with it, yet. But, I’m gonna go with the FitCam when the time comes mostly because of the OEM look and the wiring seems pretty easy. I’m not concerned with the battery back up and...
The $130 pre-wire isn’t a big deal on the overall price of these cars. If you ordered the Porsche cam, I assume you can return it before it’s installed and pick up a FitCam or BlackVue.
From reading these forums for a few months, the general consensus seems to be the Porsche dashcam is garbage and obtrusively large. I was going to order it until I read the posts about it and decided to go with a FitCamX which has an OEM look and is powered by the rain sensor behind the mirror...
It may be better to find someone who is handy with a 3D printer and have them custom made without the wires or drilling holes. You could even customize the size a little or add little details that the real ones don’t have. Something without the “wing” would achieve the same look.
Why does this Carmine Red look unbelievably amazing but the one I see around town looks so blah? If Porsche offered something close to the Tesla pearl red, I would have jumped on it but this is a close second from these pics.
There was a thread a while back with a post from a guy who works with satellites. IIRC, he said they have found that the biggest cause of battery life degradation is big draws and fast charging and long charging periods. More frequent charges from 60%-80% was better than 20%-80%, for example...
