I called the dealer to check the ETA for the ETA for part that replaces the older cable, i got an answer that it's expected at June... for a recall that was identified 4 years ago and a remedy that didn't work... very disappointing.
here is the full story from the recall doc:
Right now i have a PLC ethernet adapter fitted inside my current 50A charger, been working well for a year..i prevously i had a very dumb tesla charger that was given to me by Tesla (never owned a tesla - long story..) but i replaced with with a very smart Unifi EV Station and i'm happy with the...
The only thing that this charger is missing is PLC (Power Line Connection?) the Porsche branded mobile connect charges has it and it works great!
I know most people have wifi that can reach the charger, mine is at a public underground garage in a condo, where i can't really put my own wifi...
I might be on a wait list, my dealer communicated that hey have an allocation available.
I’m pretty sure the real allocation is assigned when they approve the configuration to be built at the factory.
i agree, this was not built for PR - this station would be really useful
The city, with about 1M residents has 4 EA charging sites with 3-4 chargers each, that's nothing - this station will add a lot of needed capacity.
Another thing i noticed - there seems to be no way to delete the side door "electric" designation, anyone is able to find how to delete that? in the old configurator it used to be an "opt-in" option
