Saw this on the main board, but thought it merits mention here on the CM thread. We’re all lucky to have Cherry Metallic vehicles in our possession as the color (according to many sources) has been discontinued, along with all paint to sample colors going forward. I guess we all have...
Very strange…I mean they make any paint color on the spectrum (paint by sample) but they can’t create a standard color they’ve had for three plus years…I’m not sure what color I would’ve opted for. Maybe reach out and ask them why it’s on the Porsche Configurator for new builds…it just doesn’t...
For all you Southeast Florida owners….please see the attached….this is an awesome event. Get there early to park in the Porsche area…great collection of cars, free food trucks, etc, this is a first class event. TD
EA in West Fort Lauderdale just changed over to ten 350 kW Chargers. The downside is you’re guaranteed to get panhandled virtually every visit, and I definitely would not venture there at night, no bueno.
Thank you! I got the news today that Geico is liable for 100% of the accident/repairs. I’m moving forward with getting this in the shop and getting whole again. A bit of good news, the person at fault does have $25,000 of liability coverage instead of the assumed $10,000 so I’m definitely...
Yes sir….thanks for the intel and well wishes…and my expectancy bar is set low….
Florida law establishes that drivers are entitled to compensation for the diminished value (DV) of their motor vehicle after a car accident. This is based on the idea that a reasonable consumer would refuse to pay...
Thanks for the response…and to clarify….if I am forced to go the State Farm route, they will let me take the vehicle to any of the three Porsche approved collision centers here in Greater Fort Lauderdale in spite of them not being on their preferred list, with the caveat that if the shop and...
Thank you. Fortunately, it sounds like no replacement parts will be necessary in this particular repair, although the vehicle will still retain the proverbial scarlet letter via CarFax.
Yup, I never even considered a dash cam, I’m naive. That said, doesn’t a dash cam only record action viewing forward and forward side angles? My “friend” came from my six o’clock to seven o’clock. I’m not sure a forward/side viewing camera would’ve made a compelling difference.
Hey…State Farm Select Services doesn’t recognize the three accredited Porsche Collision shops in Broward County, Florida……hopefully a non issue due to the fact I’m going after the liable individual’s insurance for everything, but yes, State Farm doesn’t play nice with the three Porsche Approved...
Thanks Jim, I’m keeping all photos, estimates, repair bills etc. for the length of time I own the vehicle. If I go the diminished value recovery route, I’m going to get the post repair estimate from where I bought this car and where I will likely buy my next car…hopefully that may mitigate the...
Thank you….State Farm (my insurance provider) is willing and able to process the claim….but per the discussions I’ve had during this process, they are very difficult for the Porsche approved shops to deal with, nickel and dime sorta stuff, and they take their sweet time to come review possible...
Thanks for the feedback, no lawyers at arms reach so I would be on my own, but I may try to see about contingency alternatives. Ugh. 10 to 15% for that, painful.
Hi, yes, I have quality insurance and I’ve initiated a claim, but State Farm (my company) does not have any Porsche approved collision facilities in their group. I could be on the hook for any labor/parts cost overages. I’m going after Geico, I wasn’t at fault. State Farm is my parachute...
Thank you for the reply. I’m thinking about a 2025 Electric Cayman, but there’s a lot that needs to happen before that would occur. They won’t be able to CPO what will be an extremely low mileage Taycan since it has had a bump, so I’m just trying to figure this all out.
