Still have not had a chat with Porsche Customer Service- I will hit them up tomorrow after the holiday week.
My issue is not at all that there is a problem with the car (things happen, I get it) but in how it is being handled.
This is what it looks like now:
- 5 days to diagnose
- now waiting...
I would not say that they have 'crossed the line' with me but just that they have seriously disappointed me in the customer service category. I am OK with being at the bleeding edge, and also with the inherent challenges that come with that at times. What I find inexcusable is their customer...
A few thoughts (with the caveat of 'take them for what they are worth' which is likely not much!
1. there is constant chatter on here about 'Porsche needs to dump cars' and 'excessive industry on lots' etc. What I can tell you is that there are two dealers in my area and one of them has ZERO new...
That looks like a pretty sweet deal!
The MF is high (to me, but that may be competitive). It is the equivalent of 9.5% interest rate.
Having said that, the selling price is pretty impressive.
If it meets your pecs, I'd say go for it! :)
I share your sentiment re dealer vs Porsche HQ (or at least Porsche NA)- I cannot fault my dealer.
PS- and I miscounted-the Taycan is my ninth Porsche (2 Boxsters, 3 911's, 2 Macans, 1 Cayenne, 1 Taycan).
It is amazing to me that Porsche finds this level of servide to be acceptable on a $100-200K car. This is my eighth Porsche so needless to say I am a big fan, but this is incredibly disappointing.
UPDATE (not pleasant, at multiple levels):
- test showed one failed cell (at least)
- dealer has had the car for 10 days
- there is another Taycan 'ahead of me' with a similar issue and it is occupying the only lift designed to work on Taycans
- the process is that after the first test, data...
That is what I figured- I just hadn't heard it called the traction battery before...basically it Is the EV Battery'.
Something tells me that I will be driving this Panamera for a while ;(
PS- after the Taycan, the Panamera feels INCREDIBLY slow!
First update from service:
It appears your Taycan issue is traction battery related. Tech has sent the data to Porsche and said once they respond they will likely ask him to run a number of tests to confirm and he said, depending on how long they take to respond, it can take some time so I will...
Met with the service advisor this morning and explained the history of what happened. They could not have been nicer. They will have a tech on it first thing Monday morning and they give me a Panamera loaner.
Let’s see how it goes from here!
Well-- my otherwise flawless 2020 4S has failed me :(
Would love others' perspectives on what lies ahead for me. Here is the scene:
drove the car without issue the other day, garaged it with approx 140 miles of range (did not plug it in)
went to drive it a day later---range showed 25 miles
put...
That was what I thought- Porsche roadside just hauled it away…and I got the dreaded red circle of death electrical failure warning. This doesn’t look good. ;(
The temps here have been in the mid 90's this week and I had a very odd and concerning experience with my Taycan.
Parked in my garage with about 140 miles or range remaining. Didn't charge it up.
Went to drive it today and it showed 28 miles of range!
Went to plug it in, and it says Direct...
The variable, as mentioned above, is the MF.
Absent data, this still seems crazy high to me.
The last expensive car that I leased was a 2017 Tesla S P100D. MSRPwas $151K. I don't recall what I put down (maybe 5-6000?) and my payment, including crazy high CA sales tax, was around $1200.
I DO...
