  1. Backroads Ready?

All, I currently have a GTS on order, and while I currently have a 996 C4S as my weekender, I'm wondering how the GTS will hold up for some backroad blasts given the relatively slim range when you're giving it the beans combined with the lack of EA chargers located off the beaten path. Does...
  2. 4S to Turbo - is it worth it?

Very true. Porsche knows how to engineer the heck out of a vehicle so either way you can't go wrong! Each day the wait gets more painful for the arrival of my new DD.
  3. 4S to Turbo - is it worth it?

Welp, I suppose I'll take your F1 experience over my backroads blasting experience when it comes to the technical vernacular and which is more important. Suffice to say I have a GTS on order so I had to defend my future steed.
  4. 4S to Turbo - is it worth it?

One can't discount the shared torque numbers with the turbo though. That's a significant boost over the 4S.
  5. 4S to Turbo - is it worth it?

How is GTS poor value? I'd imagine that it'd be a big value if you're looking at a performance oriented 4S with > 35k in options.
  6. Daily Driver Brakes

I appreciate you all's inputs. I'm still on the fence but we'll see as the time approaches. The logical side of me says go PSCB's but the fun side wants the PCCB's lol I may just flip a coin before my freeze date and call it a day.
  7. Daily Driver Brakes

Greetings all, I have been waffling back and forth between speccing PSCB and PCCB for my GTS build. Let me preface this by stating that I'm aware 90% of braking is done by regen and there are minimal if any performance differences between the two when it comes to stopping power/distance. I...
  8. Pros and Cons of Variable Light Control roof option

The price alone was the main turnoff for me. I took it off of my build. As a "nice to have but not at all necessary" option, ~$3k on top of the panoramic sunroof is above my threshold. I put that money towards PSCB's.
  9. First 1000 miles - prioritization of features for buyers & some remaining mysteries for owners

One of the best mountain roads in SoCal is Sunrise Highway. (you can get to this immaculate road from Julian) It's plenty secluded and has incredible views. Also if you take Highway 95 (I think it's 90 or 95....ninety-something, I haven't been out to SoCal in a few years) all the way until its...
  10. My GTS is being built!

@SuchiStu well give us some driving impressions! We're all dying to know as future production seems anything but certain.
  11. 2022 Taycan GTS build

Greetings, I for one love your build. It looks like the perfect DD for me. PSCB: From a performance perspective, they are absolutely not necessary, BUT they will last >100k miles on the car given the recup braking and are definitely an aesthetic improvement. I plan on getting PSCB half for the...
  12. First 1000 miles review - MY22 RWD

Random question: For those who have it, how much did the dealer charge for the tire/wheel protection plan?
  13. New to the Porsche brand, ordered a GTS ST, What Have I Done?!???

Fair enough. I'm in a similar situation but I decided if I'm going to splurge then I'm going to splurge (within reason). I was able to keep my options list below 19k so I'm happy about that. Carbon ceramics will have to wait until next time unfortunately.
  14. New to the Porsche brand, ordered a GTS ST, What Have I Done?!???

I see you exercised much restraint with your options lol no premium package?
  15. Gentian Blue Maintenance

@detansinn I love to hear it. Honestly I was looking at getting a 992 as my new DD but after some deliberation realized there's little utility in 2 911's, so my attention shifted to the Taycan as the Panamera is too large for my taste. I've really never had much interest in EV's prior to the...
  16. Gentian Blue Maintenance

@detansinn what are your PPF/ceramic plans for your upcoming Taycan? I've followed your 992 exploits on rennlist and was quite shocked that you decided to trade it in for a Taycan.
  17. Useable battery - Are Porsche looking after us?

That's a really good point that I didn't really think about. Over time the battery will inevitably degrade in it's ability to reach "100% capacity" so perhaps the buffer helps guard against that...? Otherwise Taycans would have an additional 10% more range (equating to roughly 25-30 more miles...
  18. Gentian Blue Maintenance

I thought about getting a full PPF but 1) I'd rather keep that extra cost for protection below 4k as I already extended my budget to upgrade from a 4S to a GTS and 2) this car will be my daily so I wont be as anal about the cosmetics as I would if it was a fun car. How bad are the chips on the...
  19. Gentian Blue Maintenance

Greetings all, I (as myriad other members) am on the fence regarding gentian blue vs. chalk on my upcoming GTS allocation. I'm pretty heavily leaning towards gentian blue but I've read various accounts of how difficult it is to maintain. I do intend on getting PPF (front end) and full ceramic...
  20. Race-Tex Aging

Hmmm it might be easier to just go with leather. This will be my daily so I know I won’t want to worry about hardcore preservation of the steering wheel I’m using 85% of the time in a multitude of conditions.
