In hindsight, I would’ve definitely got the 7000 ext. That added security is well worth it.
And I bought it basically for my wife’s VW a while back, so I wasn’t really concerned about heights and measurements for the Taycan back then, haha
Sorry about the late reply!
It's the 5000 lb capacity version. I've had no issues getting the Taycan or my Macan up on it. Granted, I always reinforce with jack stands...even when my wife's MK1 VW is on it.
It's been driving wonderfully. Drove through NYC (from Long Island to New Jersey), and if you know anything about the Cross Bronx Expressway...then you know.
Drove it on both normal and 'lowered' settings, which are obviously 15mm lower than factory and it was awesome. When the roads opened...
So, on my first trip using public chargers, I’m finding that I can’t use any public fast chargers. My first stop was an EA station that I was at for about...an hour before giving up. Every time that the plug was inserted, the status ring would immediately turn red and the console would tell me...
Got my lowering links from FVD Brombacher yesterday as well as some Rennline 15mm spacers all around. The car is only 15mm lower on all settings, but it made a dramatic difference. I'd take it out for some proper photos, but it's pouring out here :(
Buy the ticket, take the ride. Funny aside, my first name is Lou and my last name starts with V...so, every time I'd see a post from you here, I'd think that I posted something that I didn't remember.
Good luck on your trip. If you need someone to look after your cat, stop on through!
So, how long are the stock sensor arms? While my engineering prowess is practically nothing, I may have some things laying around from my last Porsche that could essentially work :)
Not necessarily scenery, but washed it last night in preparation for paint correction and ceramic coating today and tomorrow. Figured I'd grab some night shots w/ some long exposures :)
Took delivery on Thursday, and after a bit of set-up headaches, it's chilling at it's new home. A friend and I set up the 240V 15-40 socket about a week ago (much to my happiness, there was already an empty conduit going from my main panel to the garage) and I installed the charging dock yesterday.
Grabbed this shot while doing the paperwork and evaluating my Macan's trade in value. Picking this one up tomorrow and I'm beyond amped.
I already have tinted parking lights and spacers on order...haha.
I had my place in line back in December of 2018, but hadn't placed my order until July of this year (2020). My salesman had given me a mid-october delivery date, but I was being realistic and not expecting it until November.
Anyway, got an email from him last night asking if I was around...and...
I'm taking it you're of a certain elderly age, and that's ok. Old guys usually have that "it's different and I'm scared" mentality. Good day to you, sir. I also have my current Porsche's ECU flashed as I never tend to "settle" for anything. I suppose at your point in life, it's nice to just let...
