It feels like one thing that they did with the software update is change the sequencing of the boot up process. Now, the screen seems to appear more quickly, but underlying functionality is still booting and not quite ready, even though the screen is ready and responding. The reason I believe...
I ordered without the badge, but sometimes wish I had left it on. I didn’t like the visual clutter, since the area is relatively small under the PORSCHE logo.
Well said, @daveo4EV! I liked this post and had to add a written response for emphasis. Objective, accurate and totally aligned with my views on this subject.
I had difficulty as well, since there are no prompts. I connected my iPhone via Bluetooth. Then, when you look at devices, you'll see a number of icons in the row for your iPhone, including one for CarPlay furthest right. Tap that icon, and your car should eventually see it as wireless. It may...
LOL. I am in the US, so this means the University of Michigan.
Candidly, I am only vaguely aware of Harry Potter - enough to know your comment is a reference to it - so I am not even sure I really get the joke! :p
OK, I just discovered that Dynamic Lighting is not where I was originally told it would be. It is in the Media section when you press the “...” in the lower right corner. So I do indeed have the Dynamic Lighting! So scratch that one off.
Here is my experience:
News on Passenger Screen is gone. Icon is there in center, but it doesn’t seem to work. (Not that it really worked before the update.)
No Dynamic Lighting Option. However, I don’t know if I ever had Dynamic Lighting. It isn’t there now.
Otherwise, the update was great...
Sport sound is definitely on outside. I have head my car leave the driveway on my home security video recordings when I drive off. I'm not even really that close to the house and my home security system hears it and records it.
That is simply a limitation of wireless charging generally. Wireless charging rates are typically much lower than wired charging rates, especially Qi charging on iPhone (7.5w vs. >20w). I would definitely plug in for a long trip.
I will add that my
Makes sense, actually. It seems like one of the variables impacting the update - in addition to better training - could be that some of the components have changed in some way (perhaps firmware) that does not take the update. Mine had been in the shop for a long time to...
It's smart, if you can afford it. It avoids months of looking at Suncoast Parts or Porsche Tequipment wondering if you should add the feature after market... :D
Nice! It's certainly possible that my wired connection had nothing to do with it getting set up. I connected bluetooth, which worked (as a regular bluetooth phone). At some point, I was able to see a CarPlay icon listed next to my iPhone in the "Devices" menu, and I touched it, but nothing...
Wait, are we sure that the keys need to be reprogrammed? I received my car back, and it's performing great, but I never gave them my key. I only gave them my spare key (which I haven't used since).
While I did not add the sideskirts aftermarket (I had them as part of my build), I totally agree that it should be quite simple. Since you will need the insert painted by a body shop, it won't be very much additional expense to have them install it as well. The benefit of having the body shop do...
