  1. Who’s on board Felicity Ace - Feb 10 from Emden?

Fire in the cargo hold….. I pray this wasn’t a Taycan battery fire….. well, wonder if I’m going to see the wet umbrella racer on my TYD again….let the drama begin…
  2. ? PCM 6 Update Announcement [Update: Retrofit Being Explored For Existing Taycans]

If it was just a nomenclature only change there would be no reason to coordinate the software change with it. But it would be interesting to see if the hardware change just had to do with the release of a new module that would be common with Audi. And there was no real tech improvements at...
  3. ? PCM 6 Update Announcement [Update: Retrofit Being Explored For Existing Taycans]

yes the “PAD” part number change has been verified many times. The VIN number I received today also has the new part number when searching a parts list.
  4. ? PCM 6 Update Announcement [Update: Retrofit Being Explored For Existing Taycans]

I’m not sure what you mean by the last number of the part numbers. We have been referencing the first letters in the part number: 2020-2021 9J1 035 070 - Euro with Digital Radio (DAB) 9J1 035 084 - Euro without Digital Radio (DAB) 9J1 035 092 - US with Digital Radio (SatRadio) 9J1 035 136 -...

for me it meant my delivery was being delayed. The dealer had the details
  7. The Wet Umbrella Racer

For those of you who got their cars before the TYD (track your dream) function, or since, haven’t had your dream delayed. This is the picture you get when all your dates disappear. This is how Porsche communicates your dream is being delayed. Puts a little humor into a sad moment… .
  8. ? PCM 6 Update Announcement [Update: Retrofit Being Explored For Existing Taycans]

PCM hardware cutover update: My car went into production today (15FE) and I did get my VIN. And using @lpher’s technique of checking the PCM part number, confirmed it is the “PAD” hardware vs the “9J1”.
  9. April 2022 Deliveries

So my TYD “wet umbrella racer” was real. I did confirm changes to my dates. The build actually has started today (3 days early) but the finish of the build moved from 25FE to 04MR so it will likely miss the ship. New estimate delivery is 22AP (was 08AP). A least I can stay on this April thread!
  10. April 2022 Deliveries

It still shows the wet umbrella driver. If anyone sees the Porsche server overloaded today it is probably because I will be continually refreshing my TYD page!
  11. April 2022 Deliveries

I had a build date of 18FE22, Jacksonville Florida port date of 25MR22 for a delivery date of 08AP22 to dealer. But today I logged in and got the dreaded umbrella racer picture…. I assume that means delay. How long are these delays normally?
  12. ? PCM 6 Update Announcement [Update: Retrofit Being Explored For Existing Taycans]

If I translate this to: “rep said PCM 6.0 “PAD part number prefix” will be installed in 2022 Taycans assembled in the second half of this “model” year (meaning February) sometime. PCM 6.0 “9J1 part number prefix” is not backward compatible because the hardware on vehicles assembled “with” that...
  13. ? PCM 6 Update Announcement [Update: Retrofit Being Explored For Existing Taycans]

So the big question for me remains the same. When is/was the cutover date to the “PAD” PCM part number from the “J91” part number. So far we have one confirmed (Lpher) PCM cutover from the VIN tracking at a 24th January build date. Does anyone have any vehicle VIN built after that? Anyone...
  14. Taycan headlights wanna be? What is it?!

they were right, it is a KIA. KIA is owned by Hyundai!
  15. ? PCM 6 Update Announcement [Update: Retrofit Being Explored For Existing Taycans]

Since you have the Vin number can you check to see with PCM hardware you have? Outside the press vehicle I don’t think we have seen a “PAD” in the wild yet…. Here are the PCM mainunit partnumbers for the US and Eurospec Taycans: 2020-2021 9J1 035 070 - Euro with Digital Radio (DAB) 9J1 035...
  16. ? PCM 6 Update Announcement [Update: Retrofit Being Explored For Existing Taycans]

the one in this you tube video apparently has the new hardware. He mentions it at 12 min 20 sec in the video.
  17. Mission-E wheels fit Taycan 4S with the standard brakes?

Question regarding that. My 2013 Model S still generates some brake dust due to the having to actually clamp pads below about 6-7mph. Can the Taycan stop with out using the pads? I think the new Teslas do…
  18. Mission-E wheels fit Taycan 4S with the standard brakes?

Of course it’s profiteering, but I think the “logic” is because their color painted (or silver) wheels they don’t want them out there full of brake dust. I don’t think they trust us to wipe our wheels everyday….. but yes, profiteering
  19. Per Dealer: Jan 2022 PCM 6.0 System Update - "No Plans at this time..."

Just saw a new you tube video of someone evaluating a new Taycan in the mountains, in snow, in Germany somewhere (the one where they got stuck). It had the new PCM updates. I assume that means the cars being built now have it…
