The Cargo capacity with seats up is the space under the "shelf" which is essentially the cover in the hatch. When the Audi RS6 came out, the official German reported cargo volume with seats up was 20 cu ft of cargo capacity but once it was "converted" to the US standards it became 30 cu ft.
