yes, that is it. This was also mentioned in The Smoking Tire clip published today about the cross turismo. Germans report cargo space based on maintaining visibility out of the rear window.
I used the rough measurements from the clip posted yesterday by autogefuhl to arrive at 22.5 cu ft in the...

When the Audi RS6 came out, the official German reported cargo volume with seats up was 20 cu ft of cargo capacity but once it was "converted" to the US standards it became 30 cu ft.
You’re absolutely right - the accessories add up fast. For the CT you’re looking at $800 for rails plus cross bars plus each bike rack. - guessing that puts you at an investment around $1300 for one bike or $1600 for two.
It seems like the hitch rack is intended more for the Porsche e-bikes...

I ran some mpg “tests” with roof box using cruise control over ten min intervals on the straight roads of NM...
The aero of bikes on the roof vs a hitch rack is also horrific. I’ve read up to 40% worse fuel economy on the roof at highway speeds with significantly less drag for a hitch.
On my Panamera ST an XL roof box hits mpgs by about 25% @ 80mph and the roof box is more aero than bikes.
