Dunno why you would get silver window surrounds and wrap them rather than just getting the black ones, it's hardly a lot of money.
Ambient lighting is an option that you need to select if you want it. The fire extinguisher is pointless, don't bother with it. If an EV catches fire you should get...
Sport Chrono really isn't necessary, especially if you don't like the clock spoiling the dashboard. Ambient lighting is for sure a vanity option but definitely does make an all black interior look nice at night (poppy red ftw)
This is a great spec. I don't see the point in Sport Chrono for an electric car, and nobody can explain what the special sauce Sport Plus mode gets you vs the Sport Plus chassis mode, but that's up to you ofc.
I have a similar colour combination (Volcano and full black leather) and vaguely...
Yeah there is apparently a hardware difference between factory spec innodrive and upgraded from ACC.
There are lots of posts on here saying people didn't get Innodrive or ACC because they just want to drive the car, but it's awesome in traffic and not pretending to be more than it is like the...
Yeah I have no regrets about my PPF, which the installer said doesn't need ceramic coating as the film itself is sufficiently coated / hydrophobic or whatever. The mountain roads around here get quite a lot of rock fall and while I've been careful you can't always avoid pebbles being kicked up...
The 20in wheels are great even on mountain roads which get pretty beat up by the winter conditions. They get better range as well according to Porsche, and (critically) look way better than the 19s. Apart from the $ I don't think there's a great argument for sticking with the standard wheels.
On a similar theme I stayed at a couple of nice hotels here in Switzerland last week, and both just stuck my Taycan on to charge without needing to be asked. It's an awesome aspect to EVs that on a road trip like that you can do the entire thing without needing to stop and charge or refuel...
It isn't, people like to tout Tesla's advantage in battery technology (for example) but they are still running on thousands of commodity laptop cells. They were just using Mobileye for their driver assist technology, until they were booted from the programme for being dangerous. There is no...
I have full PPF and dirt rinses off super easily at the local pressure washer stall place. Much easier than my previous car with no PPF. I do finish with the de-ionised water and usually hand dry it but tbh not convinced that's necessary.
On Monday I went down to the garage planning to take it...
You can have heating for the standard wheel and the difference in girth is not that much from the GT. Like a lot of these options it's not at all necessary, but when you're specifying a car for yourself, why not if it makes you happy.
Worth bearing in mind that the Taycan has a decent buffer in the battery capacity, 93kWh actual vs 88kWh usable from memory, which Teslas don't have. So a decent hedge against dégradation.
Some Teslas even had a smaller battery than advertised (P85).
The timers are an important point, you want to use shore power to heat up the battery before you leave in the morning.
I regularly park outside in a fairly cold environment (1700m elevation in the Alps) and don't see a lot of reduction in charge state when it's sitting there for a week+, but I...
It's far from perfect especially in the way it prefers "porsche" chargers which don't really exist, but the thing I like about the built-in nav is how well it estimates range. Vastly better than abetterrouteplanner. The traffic warnings are pretty accurate as well.
One-pedal driving makes sense for something like a milk float (do those still exist?) or delivery van, not for a sports car or even a sporty saloon. I think they really nailed the balance with the light regen simulating a bit of engine braking.
The Taycan does/can have it, I know because I've seen the warning come up on the screen. However like all the similar warnings it's never triggered for anything useful. I wouldn't lose sleep about not having it.
I have Innodrive and surround view, for what it's worth.
