Good morning all. Nice to see this thread still going. Think I am planning taking the plunge at some point to try and access the features talked about here and was wondering if anyone could tell me if this mini pc/lap pad style thing would be capable of running the software needed. I use a...
From the videos I’ve seen the frunk opens with a gesture just below the badge on the bumper. And the boot I guess is generic like other cars as long as the key is in your pocket. Maybe a setting as well because I see you can go in and choose to only have the drivers door open when you approach...
I’ve got a couple of years with this one yet anyway before I even consider another. On that note what’s everyone’s thoughts on going up from the 4S. Worth the extra money for the power? Or do we all think the 4S is more than enough.
This is pretty much exactly what what the guy from Porsche said to me on the phone yesterday.
My thinking is that when it was a subscription they weren’t making guaranteed money as people would likely pay for it only when needed. Like myself working away for a month at a time.
But it just...
So I’ve been wondering about the PIWIS thing and how this would play out when you take the car in for a service. What would Porsche say about warranty’s if they found out you had done anything to the car.
I’m sure they would like the option to cancel a warranty
So I had a call from the Porsche dealership today to confirm my inquiry about the comfort access option on my 2020 4S
He confirmed that on most if not all cars the hardware is there and that it is to streamline production.
His explanation was that as every Porsche is the idea of individuality...
Yes sorry my bad I mean the dial that changes sports setting. I don’t currently have it on mine, but was wondering if it would just be coding or actual hard wear wiring needed as well. In that case I wouldn’t bother. Just make sure my next time has it.
I was looking at trying to swap my non jog dial wheel for one with it but it would seems it’s not straight forward to do.
Although yours already had one so maybe I will come steal it 🤣
Hi yes I am of the same thinking as you. And I did some research regarding the hard wear part. The handles having the dimples on them indicates the presence of the hard wear from what I have read so it should just be a soft wear setting at Porsche end to active it. However it’s the price they...
So I’ve been reading through this thread and lots of options out there. But no one has mentioned the obvious choice, keep the car and get yourself a VW caddy maxi van, loads of room in the back, always turns heads as it’s a very lovable motors and everyone wants one, it’s a prestigious mark...
Ok so I’ve watched it now with AI and I see what you mean 😊
so I guess it’s a service they provide as opposed to doing it yourself? I’ve looked up the vctool thing online and am not sure on what it would do. Have you looked into it much?
Sorry in advance if this has already been covered in this thread.
I’ve got a 2020 4S, my steering wheel doesn’t have the jog dial on it for setting sport and sport plus. If I was to get a wheel with the jog dial would I have the use of it or would it need coding?
Ye I found it. Some very interesting reading and when I’m home from work in a few weeks I will be trying out for sure. And the other options look interesting as well for updates to the pcm and stuff.
