  1. Drive mode at high speed

I use sport or sport+ on the Autobahn because I like the responsiveness after I’ve slowed for something. For your safety I also recommend choosing the distraction-free minimal display setting on the dashboard. Over about 180 I also silence the music and the passengers for 100% concentration...
  2. Underframe Damage

Everyone who has some some proper rural driving (or a hit a few speed bumps) has holes like that in their cardboard-like Taycan undercarriage :-) My OPC said not to bother too much, fix it when you want to. They also know that if we replace the undertray we will just make another hole. What...
  3. Can I use my Porsche Charge Card with non Porsche

    Yes I believe so
  4. EVs = passenger motion sickness

The advice I got on advanced driver training was ”ease and squeeze” - stomping on the accelerator is very tempting but also very uncomfortable for the passenger. Ease off, gently squeeze on.
  5. charging port issue

Assuming your cable is properly made to standards the socket should accept it. It should accept any IEC 62196-2 Type 2 cable and on a road trip you might well find yourself charging somewhere that has a tethered three phase cable. Next time the car is in their workshop you may want to have the...
  6. Right charging port impaired

had this recently on my J1.2. Actually the left port was stuck part way open but the error message said right port. Apparently that is common (probably a UK right-hand drive weirdness). Each time it happened I was able to get the port back into action - instructions are on this forum somewhere...
  7. “Privacy mode activated”

I’ve had this several times when my mobile went out of range while using the app: when it reconnected the car had gone into privacy mode. Except that, as others have said ,it isn‘t actually in privacy mode and connection returns when you unlock the car. It hasn’t happened to me for a while but...
  8. My Porsche app latest update

Yes. But they continue to miss the biggest opportunity: the manual should be automatically edited to match the vehicle's current option set. So easy to do, and it would make the manual so much less confusing.
  9. Tesla Model S - the car that started it all…

When I bought my Model S all my friends said to me that it was a white elephant and would be rendered immobile within a year or two when Tesla went bust. I am so glad I pushed ahead with it -- now on our third Tesla and second Taycan -- the Model S was the one that proved EVs could not only be...
  10. NHTSA Complaint - Explosion and fire while vehicle exterior was buffed - April 20, 2026

Imagine having to sit in the NHTSA office and read all this garbage that people submit as formal complaints ....
  11. NHTSA Complaint - Explosion and fire while vehicle exterior was buffed - April 20, 2026

Weird. And almost Presidential in its use of capitals and grammar :)
  12. Porsche app not showing charging stations

Actually there is something weird going on with the Turkish data. I had lots of 320kW etc chargers, but now I don't. Or they appear at only a tight range of zoom levels. But neighbouring Bulgaria is fine. Perhaps a performance issue on some service that Porsche pulls the data from?
  13. Porsche app not showing charging stations

I can see them. Just to check a couple of mistakes we all make: - after resetting the filters you need to click "save" - on the map after searching for a location you need to click "show charging stations" at the top of the screen
  14. Northern Spain and Portugal - Spring Driving Trip

One of my favourites. Especially around the cathedral at first light before all the tourists get up.
  15. Northern Spain and Portugal - Spring Driving Trip

We took our Turbo Sport Turismo for 2,500 miles of wonderful Spring driving through France, northern Spain, Portugal (as far as Porto, then the Duero Valley), and through the Picos de Europa, a mountain range in Northern Spain. We started with the afternoon ferry Portsmouth-Caen (and...
  16. How did you program your 🔹buttons?

J1.2 so I have skip track already. Steering wheel: sport sound on/off (useful when approaching a cyclist or driving through a pedestrian-rich area) Console: turn off the mandatory speed bong
  17. Switzerland - Porsche Charging Service prices vs Operator prices

In my travels through FR DE NL ES GB PT etc I have found that the Porsche Charging Service Plus is a very good deal - it;s cheaper than native prices on many networks. And simpler than messing around with multiple accounts for different networks. To the point that I’ve stopped using other cards...
  18. Porsche charging card issues today?

Has anyone had trouble using their Porsche card to start charges today? Minebhas Failed to authorise on three different chargers in Portugal. I’ve been able to start the charge from the app on two of them but the card should work. One of the charging providers said there was a problem with...
  19. Class action filed Sept 25 against Porsche

Thank you but the OP is from the UK, you are from the US. It's a different story in the US. In the UK almost NOONE has 3-phase power (required on a 240V system to deliver 22kW) at home. And putting it in can cost £10,000 because they need to dig up the street. There are of course exceptions...
  20. Steering Wheel Paddles Live on Configurator

This whole paddle idea seems like a waste of time (or plastic). Just more buttons, made to look like something they are I drove an horrible Audi eTron SUV once that had paddles to adjust regen. Completely pointless. I think they were just there because Soccer Mom expects to see them even though...
