The Taycan RWD is my third Porsche and I absolutely love it. I’ve owned Audi and BMW in the past, and while great cars, nothing drives like a Porsche. The Taycan is a perfect blend of everything Porsche with some built in practicality (eg you can haul 4 adults).
I was genuinely concerned about...
Have you experienced any grinding type noise when under 5mph and coming to a stop? I have base Taycan and the noise comes from the front of the car, so don’t think it’s motor noise. I hear it pretty pronounced inside the cabin.
My brakes feel very different after the AMB5 recall update and I’m not loving it. Anyone else experiencing this? They feel softer and not as quick to engage. I hear a grinding noise inside the car from the pedal when slowing down under 5mph. It seems at under 5mph the PSM turns off or changes...
Don’t I need to select a charger through the navigation in order to precondition the battery? Or is there another way? Not a big issue now during summer, but I’ll be driving long distance trips during the winter months and using EA stations.
I consistently get no results when using the Navigation to search for Porsche Charging Services even when I know I’m close to an EA station (within 5 miles). Is there a setting I need to fix? Thanks
I noticed a change in the brakes post AMB5 update, too. A little more play/squish in the brakes and you have to press a bit harder. When coming to a stop and the speed hits under 5mph, something definitely changes and you have to press the brake even harder. It also feels like the recuperation...
Had my recall update done this morning. Took one hour and I was first in line, so was out the door in no time. All my settings were left in tact. All I had to do was click on my name/profile when I got in the car. Glad that’s done!
Yes, I’m consistently seeing range around ~300 miles. I almost always drive in normal mode with the a/c on when needed. Sport/Sport Plus only when showing off ;). Range mode I haven’t used.
Update on my commute this week and all went great!
I left early Monday morning and drove about 170 miles directly to the East Brunswick, NJ EA charging station.
Starting charge: 100% and 311 miles.
Arrival at EA in NJ: 45% and 131 miles.
Normal mode with Eco A/C on the entire team at 76...
I only use Eco mode and it feels pretty normal to me. I did a three hour trip home yesterday (around ~210 miles) and ran Eco mode the entire time, as it was low to mid 90’s outside. At times it felt too cold and I had to turn up the temp inside a degree or two. When I got home I had over 100...
My potential next Taycan will have more of the options I would like, once I’m convinced I can live with an electric car. I bought this one off the dealer lot.
Hey guys - regular long distance commuting in my 2021 RWD Taycan starts tomorrow. Relying on public charging almost had me buy a non-electric model, but I really love the Taycan and am glad I made the purchase. Let’s hope I feel the same way after a few months into my commute (especially when...
