Happened to me today: Connect said I don’t have a valid login. So then I tried the website, my login is valid but now I have no vehicle! An hour later it shows up on the website and what do you know the Connect app works again!
Good idea with the voice. In any car I’ve had with Sirius it’s always been about scrolling. I create favorites so I can just pare the list to the dozen or so that I actually listen to with any frequency. But honestly I almost exclusively use Car Play now.
Completely agree. And for home, how often would you ever need that? How often are you running near 0 and need to get back to high SOC within just a couple hours for another long drive? And yet you wouldn’t be stopping at any DC charger...seems like a big expense (including home upgrades) with...
While unheard of in the auto market until Tesla, it’s been common practice in technology for decades. I remember back in the 90s when I found out IBM was shipping mainframes & midranges with a boatload more CPUs than you bought, and you upgraded by simply paying them more and they turned on...
Supporting your experience I found a video that a guy posted about doing his Cayan (forgive his saying of Porsche):
I still wish there was more style rather than just the Porsche in official font.
That threw me. I’m a customer of the Porsche Minneapolis shown in the video, and they are super hygienic. I’ve never seen anybody there without a mask (other than some customers). Re: test drives after COVID first struck, they would sanitize the car and give you the keys and talk afterward...
Yes. Huge upgrade from my BMW. It’s great from standstill and highway acceleration. Very pleased. Could it be more? Sure, why not, hard to ever say no to more, but it’s far more than I’ve ever had and let’s face it far more than mostly city driving will allow...so yes
Honestly that close and I’d be questioning too. FWIW, I’d upgrade. A few more months to drive it plus a few more upgrades...a year from now you won’t even notice that you spent the extra 22K and you’ll be happy either way, so might as well splurge and enjoy. The gap was larger for me and it was...
Agreed. If it’s close, upgrade. But seriously ask yourself why you are upgrading and if you will be using that additional why. For some it’s a shoe-in, for others...
Wow you just kept going! Personally I went the other direction, decided that what I really wanted I could get for significantly less and not scare the crap out of myself and all passengers every time I hit the accelerator...I love the power of the 4S, the Turbo S is crazy! And I really...
I agree with your thinking on all of this. I’ve never had a trickle charger, booster, spare battery, etc. for any car I’ve ever owned. I get this is a new car and shit happens (and happens with established cars too), but we can’t make this invisible to Porsche. Workarounds (like trickle charging...
Supercharger no, but a destination charger (like at a hotel or business) yes. See TeslaTap and Jdapter for quality adapters (and as @daveo4EV educated me, go for the 80amp to help future proof the adapter)
Good link, I like that one has its own power bank. I’ve seen some solar ones too that I thought might be decent. If you plug this into the OBD (as indicated here for trickle charging: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/long-term-storage.2404/#post-32793) would that be enough to “jump” the...
Please post updates on that trip! Sounds interesting and a bit nerve wracking. We would love to hear how it goes...and of course a few pics in that lovely part of the country.
This cracked me up because it’s so true! This failure is not restricted to Porsche design. Apple and their renown UI design is irritating AF with CarPlay and scroll/swipe for exactly the same thing. So many times in my BMW I’ve just given up and selected whatever song/artist I’ve gotten to...
Please do post, and let us know if you got the gloss black (and smooth) on the plastic parts. I saw the post from UK where using PPS they got it perfect, but there are so few PPS shops in the US (and none local to me) that I’m really interested in what a non-PPS solution can do.
